
<p>Sikar News: Good news for the residents of Sikar, Rajasthan. Amidst the continuously expanding city, a new park will be developed in Gokulpura by the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT).</p>



<p>One hectare of land has been allocated for this purpose. A budget of approximately ₹38.1 million has been approved for the park. The foundation stone of the park was laid on Sunday by the UDH Minister, Jhabar Singh Kharra.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Park to be built for Rs 3 crore 81 lakh</h2>



<p>The park will be built at Jagmaliya Johda, Gokulpura, at a cost of Rs 3 crore 81 lakh. This new park will provide relief to city residents as well as those living in colonies around the bypass are</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tree Plantation Planned for the Park</h2>



<p>Social worker Sanjay Khichad informed that a tree plantation drive will soon be launched in the park with the cooperation of villagers and city residents. He stated that the park is approximately 900 meters from the Jaipur-Bikaner bypass and about 1.5 kilometres from the Circuit House.</p>

Uttar Pradesh: Seven Dead, 75 Injured as Stage Collapses at Nirvana Mahotsav


<p><strong>Nirvana Mahotsav 2025 Accident:</strong> A religious event was underway as part of the Nirvana Mahotsav in Barout, Baghpat. Organisers had constructed a 65-foot-high wooden stage. The stairs of this 65-foot-high platform suddenly collapsed, causing numerous devotees to fall on top of each other. Seven people died in the accident, and more than 75 were injured.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Entire Scaffolding Collapsed</h2>



<p>The accident occurred between 7 and 8 am. During the Nirvana Mahotsav, a ceremony was taking place to offer <i>laadu</i> (prasad) to Lord Adinath. Organisers had erected a 65-foot-high wooden stage for this purpose, with a 4-5 foot high statue of the deity placed on top. Devotees were climbing the makeshift stairs to reach the deity when the entire scaffolding collapsed under the weight, leading to a stampede. Seven people died in the incident, and over 75 were injured. Due to a lack of ambulances, the injured were transported to the hospital in e-rickshaws and handcarts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">People Lying Injured on the Ground</h2>



<p>Images emerging from the aftermath show several people writhing on the ground, covered in blood. The situation was so chaotic that there was a lack of any organised assistance. People were being moved from one place to another amidst the fallen timber of the collapsed scaffolding.</p>



<p>Those who died in the accident include Taraspāl (66), son of Hukamchand; Amit (35), son of Naresh Chand; Arun (48), son of Keshav Ram; Usha (24), wife of Surendra; Shilpi (24), daughter of Sunil Jain; Vineet Jain (40), son of Surendra; and Kamlesh Jain (65), wife of Suresh Chand. The injured are receiving treatment.</p>



<p>Baghpat DM Asmita Lal confirmed the deaths of five people. The sixth death was confirmed by the hospital. According to the SP, this event has been held for 25 years, attracting Jain community members from across the country. An investigation has been launched into how the stage structure was constructed. The situation is under control.</p>

<p>A major accident occurred on Tuesday in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. A wooden stage collapsed at the Man Stambh complex during the Nirvana Mahotsav celebrations marking the Nirvana Laddu festival of Lord Adinath. Seven people died in the accident, and more than 75 were injured.</p>

Four murder accused found in MP hotel, wielding swords after slashing victims


<p>A gruesome quadruple murder took place in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday. Four young men were brutally killed in broad daylight in Timri village, near Patan. The assailants, after hacking the victims to death, brandished their swords and fled the scene. On Tuesday, suspects in this heinous crime were apprehended from Pachmarhi, a hill station in Narmadapuram district.</p>



<p>Seven suspects were taken into custody by Jabalpur police in a raid at the Samarth Home Stay hotel in Pachmarhi. This action was taken in connection with the murder of the four young men in Timri village. The suspects, their faces covered with cloth, were transported to Jabalpur. Reports suggest that all the suspects arrived in Pachmarhi at night in a car without number plates.</p>



<p>Four individuals from two families were murdered in Timri, Patan, Jabalpur. On Tuesday, when the ambulances carrying the bodies arrived in the village after post-mortem examinations, the relatives blocked the Jabalpur-Damoh highway. Only after persuasion by MP Ashish Dubey and police officials did the relatives relent and take the bodies for the last rites. The highway remained blocked for about an hour and a half.</p>



<p>Sources suggest that Jabalpur police have apprehended 10 accused in the murders. Some of these accused were hiding in a hotel in Pachmarhi fearing arrest. However, Jabalpur police have not yet confirmed this information.</p>

<p>Several key factors are driving the increase in internet usage in rural India:</p>

<li><strong>Smartphone Usage:</strong> With 1.2 billion smartphone users in India, affordable devices have helped connect rural users to the internet.</li>



<li><strong>Content in Local Languages:</strong> 57% of users in rural areas prefer content in local languages, increasing their likelihood of digital engagement.</li>



<li><strong>Government Schemes:</strong> Programmes like BharatNet have worked to bring broadband connectivity to gram panchayats.</li>

Rajasthan to enact law to prevent suicides among students


<p>The Rajasthan government will introduce a law to regulate coaching centres and prevent student suicides. A bill will be introduced in the upcoming assembly session. The state government informed the Rajasthan High Court on Monday. The next hearing is scheduled for February 10th.</p>



<p>The division bench of Justices Indrajit Singh and V K Bharwani issued this order on a suo moto petition filed in 2016 concerning the suicides of coaching students. Advocate General Rajendra Prasad informed the court that the state government will enact a law for the regulation of coaching centres, and work is underway on all aspects. Efforts are being made to present the bill in the upcoming assembly session. Taking note of this information from the Advocate General, the court adjourned the hearing.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Assembly Session to Begin January 31st</h2>



<p>The Rajasthan Assembly budget session will commence on January 31st. The session will begin with the Governor, Haribhaau Bagde&#8217;s, first address to the assembly. Following the Governor&#8217;s address, there will be a discussion in the house from February 3rd to 6th. The Chief Minister will respond to this debate on February 6th. After the budget is presented on February 19th, there will be a debate. This will be followed by discussions on the demands of various departments. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">10 District DMs and SPs Take Charge</h2>



<p>Given the expected crowds of millions of devotees for the bathing festival, the administration has made stringent arrangements. The District Magistrates (DM) and Superintendents of Police (SP) of 10 districts surrounding Prayagraj are personally overseeing the arrangements. A large number of police personnel, Rapid Action Force (RAF), and paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain security and law and order in the mela area. The entire area is being monitored with the help of CCTV cameras and drones.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Akhada Marg Sealed, Traffic Plan Implemented</h2>



<p>The administration has sealed Akhada Marg to manage the crowds of devotees. A special traffic plan has been implemented to ensure that traffic is not disrupted during the bathing. Heavy vehicles have been banned, and designated parking areas have been marked. Public transport is being provided to facilitate devotees&#8217; access to the Sangam.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Devotees Crowd Sangam</h2>



<p>Millions of devotees have arrived in Prayagraj from across the country to bathe in the Sangam on Mauni Amavasya. Devotees observed the tradition of bathing along with prayers and charity. Long queues were seen in the Sangam area from morning. The Akharas (religious orders) of Sadhus and Saints also took a bath on this occasion.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Religious and Cultural Events</h2>



<p>In addition to bathing, various religious and cultural events are being organised in the mela area. The atmosphere has become spiritual with religious discourses, devotional songs (bhajans and kirtans), and other religious events. Various dharamshalas and social organisations are providing food and accommodation facilities for the devotees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Health and Emergency Services Active</h2>



<p>Medical camps have been set up in the mela area, keeping in mind the health services. Ambulance services and a team of doctors are also present for emergencies.</p>



<p>The Mauni Amavasya bath is a symbol of spiritual peace and purity for the devotees. Through the collective efforts of the administration and the devotees, this festival is proceeding peacefully and in an organised manner.</p>

<p><strong>Scholarship For Engineering Students in India:</strong> The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a scholarship scheme, ‘Young Achievers Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skill Enhancement Initiative (YASHASVI) Yojana 2025’, for engineering and diploma students. This scholarship is specifically for those pursuing degrees in engineering and technology. The scholarship will be awarded to meritorious and needy students.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Financial Assistance of ₹50,000</h2>



<p>A total of 5,200 students will receive scholarships under this scheme, with 2,593 allocated for degree students and 2,607 for diploma students. Degree students will receive the scholarship for a maximum of four years, and diploma holders for a maximum of three years. The amount awarded differs between degree and diploma students. Degree students will receive ₹50,000, while diploma students will receive ₹30,000 annually.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Application Deadline</h2>



<p>Interested students can apply on the official AICTE website by 15 February. After the application process, all documents will be verified and checked by AICTE. Required documents include an income certificate, previous examination mark sheets, and admission proof. Selected candidates will receive the financial assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligibility Criteria (Scholarship For Engineering Students)</h2>



<p><strong>–</strong> Must be enrolled in the first year of a degree or diploma course or in the second year through lateral entry at a recognised institution.</p>



<p><strong>–</strong> The applicant&#8217;s family&#8217;s annual income should not exceed ₹800,000.</p>



<p><strong>–</strong> The income certificate must be issued by the state/union territory government.</p>



<p><strong>–</strong> The scholarship is for core engineering branches; students transferring to other branches will not be eligible.</p>



<p><strong>–</strong> The gap between the qualifying examination and admission to the current course should not exceed two years.</p>



<p><strong>–</strong> If a student from a reserved category is selected in the general category merit list, they will be considered under the general category.</p>

<p>CM Mohan announced the decision to construct a 1450-kilometre-long Shriram Van Gaman Path in the state. A plan has also been formulated to connect pilgrimage sites associated with the life of Lord Krishna through the creation of a ‘Shri Krishna Pathey’. He expressed his happiness at the state&#8217;s rich history connected to Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, stating that the government aims to revive this glorious chapter in the state&#8217;s history. The construction of a Gita Bhavan in every urban body has also been approved.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government to Manage Public Transport</h2>



<p>The CM further stated that Madhya Pradesh was the only state in the country where the absence of a government-run public transport system had led to reliance on private operators. The government has now decided to manage public transport itself, ensuring connectivity from village to village. This will strengthen transport infrastructure in both megacities and rural areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Central Government&#8217;s Focus on State Development</h2>



<p>The Chief Minister acknowledged the central government&#8217;s support in various projects, including the metro train project and the Indore-Manmad rail line. The central government has sanctioned ₹3500 crore for national highways. Projects worth ₹350 crore, including an elevated corridor in Indore, have also been approved. Permission has been granted to upgrade the Bhopal-Kanpur economic corridor to a four-lane highway. Significant progress has also been made in expanding aviation services.</p>

<p>Pushkar-Merta Rail Line Project: Work has commenced on the first package of the much-anticipated 60km Pushkar-Merta rail line. The project work will begin from Pushkar railway station.</p>



<p>In the first phase, work worth approximately ₹100 crore has been underway for a fortnight. This package includes the construction of the railway station, underpasses, bridges, and buildings. Subsequently, in the second phase, the main track laying will be undertaken at a cost of ₹600 crore.</p>



<p>Following administrative and financial approvals from the government, the commencement of work in Pushkar on the first phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line has further strengthened the hopes of those eagerly awaiting its completion. Work on the ground has begun after the completion of land acquisition, underbridges, overbridges, and surveys.</p>



<p>In fact, the railway line coming from Ajmer had been laid up to Pushkar and then work was stopped. After various obstacles and a long wait of several years, work has finally resumed in Pushkar.</p>

<p>The Ministry of Railways has prepared a map of the fields through which the rail line will pass in Pushkar and Pisangan tehsils of Ajmer district and Merta and Riyambdi tehsils of Nagaur district and has issued a notification of Khasra numbers for land acquisition. Objections have been invited. The Pushkar-Merta rail line will pass through 23 villages in Merta, Riyambdi, and Pushkar tehsils.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Villages through which the rail line will pass</h2>



<p>The much-awaited Merta-Pushkar rail line will pass through 23 villages including Nand, Rawat Nand, Rawatkhera, Kodh, Kodia, Purohitasani, Riyambdi, Suriyas, Bhainsda Kalan, Katyasani, and others, starting from Pushkar.</p>



<p>With the commencement of work on the first phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line, which is significant from a religious and tourism perspective, a positive expectation has been generated among lakhs of people in Nagaur and Ajmer districts. The completion of this line will give a tremendous boost to tourism.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work included in the first package</h2>



<p>Suresh Punglia, the contractor of the contracting company for the Pushkar-Merta rail line, informed that the first package, worth approximately ₹100 crore, has commenced with the construction of quarters, buildings, and offices in Pushkar. Simultaneously, work is also underway to widen the railway track by 10 cm. The contractor stated that under this package, underpasses will be constructed at all road crossings, along with two large bridges, and the construction of stations in Bhainsda and Nand, and the expansion of the Pushkar railway station.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work to be undertaken in the second phase</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the second phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line will involve work worth approximately ₹600 crore. This includes earthwork for the rail line and track laying. This work will be crucial. The project is expected to be completed within three years.</p>



<p>Work commenced in Pushkar in the first phase after the financial approval. Construction of quarters and buildings began 15 days ago.
