
<p>India&#8217;s capital Delhi is witnessing a change in weather, with cold temperatures slowly setting in. However, along with the cold, the air quality in Delhi is also deteriorating rapidly. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in several areas of Delhi has reached a severe level, which is hazardous to health. This is causing difficulty in breathing for people.</p>



<p>As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average AQI in Delhi was 293 at 9 am on Friday. The situation is equally alarming in other areas of Delhi NCR. In Faridabad, the AQI was 194, 196 in Gurugram, 247 in Ghaziabad, 296 in Greater Noida, and 242 in Noida.</p>



<p>In various areas of Delhi, the AQI has crossed 300 and is hovering between 300 and 400. In Wazirpur, it was 379, 327 in Vivek Vihar, 337 in Shadipur, 362 in Rohini, 312 in Punjabi Bagh, 344 in Patparganj, 312 in Narela, 375 in Mandoli, 354 in Jahangirpuri, 324 in Dwarka Sector 8, 339 in Bawana, 342 in Anand Vihar, and 307 in Alipur.</p>



<p>People are expressing concern over the increasing pollution levels, saying that the government makes tall claims every year to control pollution but does not take concrete steps. Breathing has become difficult, my eyes are burning, and my throat is also getting affected. We are forced to wear masks while moving around. Pollution has made breathing difficult.</p>



<p>The government has implemented GRAP-1 (Graded Response Action Plan) because of the increasing pollution. The Delhi government has appealed to the people to not burst crackers and to report any instance of pollution to the Green Delhi app. In a meeting with officials, Delhi&#8217;s Chief Minister and Environment Minister discussed ways to control pollution.</p>

Rishabh Pant's Knee Injury: Is He Out for Long?


<p><strong>Rishabh Pant Injury, India vs New Zealand test:</strong> The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that India&#8217;s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will not keep wickets on the third day of the ongoing first Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswami Stadium in Bangalore.</p>



<p>During the last session of the second day&#8217;s play, Pant was injured on the right knee while trying to stump Devon Conway in the 37th over of New Zealand&#8217;s first innings. He left the field limping after being hit by a sharp turning delivery from Ravindra Jadeja. In his absence, substitute keeper Dhruv Jurel is taking care of the wicketkeeping responsibilities for India.</p>



<p>Pant had undergone surgery on his right knee after a near-fatal car accident in December 2022. The BCCI update released on Friday stated, &#8220;Rishabh Pant will not keep wickets on the third day of the first Test between India and New Zealand. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.&#8221;</p>



<p>India was bowled out for 46 runs in their first innings, which is their lowest Test score at home and third-lowest in the longer format, with Pant top-scoring with 20 runs.</p>



<p>After the second day&#8217;s play, captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that Pant had swelling on his right knee due to Jadeja&#8217;s ball. Rohit Sharma said, &#8220;Unfortunately, the ball hit his kneecap directly, which is the same knee that underwent surgery. So, there is some swelling in his knee.&#8221;</p>

<p>Notification for 43 assembly seats in the first phase has been issued. Candidates can file their nominations offline and online. The nomination process will start today.</p>



<p>Returning Officer&#8217;s office will accept nominations from 11 am to 3 pm. Each candidate can bring a maximum of four people with them to the Returning Officer&#8217;s chamber.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rules for Candidates</h2>



<p>If the candidate is from a registered party, they need to have one proposer, and if they are an independent or from an unrecognised political party, they need to have 10 proposers. The candidate cannot bring more than three vehicles within 100 meters of the Returning Officer&#8217;s office. The candidate&#8217;s name must be on the voter list of any assembly constituency in the state. Interested candidates can also file their nominations online through the Election Commission&#8217;s facility app.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Requirements for Filing Nomination</h2>



<p>While filing the nomination form, the candidate needs to submit three recent passport-sized photographs, a copy of their educational qualification certificate, a copy of the newly opened bank account, and an affidavit, also known as Form 26. In this affidavit, the candidate needs to provide detailed information about their movable and immovable assets, liabilities, and criminal records. The candidate will use their new bank account for all election-related transactions. A separate register will be maintained by the candidate and the election office to keep track of the expenses. A candidate can spend up to 40 lakh rupees in this election. The nomination fee for general category candidates is 10,000 rupees, and for scheduled caste candidates, it is 5,000 rupees.</p>

'Bye-Bye, I'm Leaving': Police Rush to Save Life After Social Media Post


<p>A young man, disappointed in love, posted a suicide note on social media along with a video. Fortunately, the district police&#8217;s social media cell team read the post and reached him in time. After reading the post, the police officer, along with the cyber cell, Alwar Gate, and Adarsh Nagar police, reached the young man&#8217;s home, where he was found in his room. The police counselled the young man and his family, preventing him from committing suicide.</p>



<p>The in-charge of the police station, Shyam Singh, said that on October 17, at around 1:45 am, a video was uploaded on social media, in which the young man had written a suicide note. In the video, a fan was seen hanging from the ceiling. The police&#8217;s social media monitoring team investigated and found that Sahil had posted the video on his social media account. The video stated, &#8220;Goodbye to whoever I have hurt, sorry. I won&#8217;t be seen again, forgive me, Papa-Mummy.&#8221;</p>



<p>Based on the team&#8217;s information, the duty officer, Inspector Roshan Lal Samariya, took action. He, along with the cyber cell, Alwar Gate, and Adarsh Nagar police, traced the young man&#8217;s mobile number and reached his home. The police found 18-year-old Sahil in his room and counselled him, preventing him from committing suicide.</p>



<p>The police team counselled Sahil and his family, advising them to talk to each other and address the problems they were facing. The team included Inspector Roshan Lal, Head Constable Subhash Chand from Alwar Gate police station, Head Constable Ritesh Kumar from Adarsh Nagar police station, and Constables Sunil and Vinod.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">&#8216;Parents should talk to their children&#8217;</h2>



<p>The police team advised Sahil and his parents to talk to each other and address the problems they were facing. The team suggested that family members should have open conversations with their children, listen to their problems, and find solutions.
