<p> The significance of the cabinet meeting to be held in Singrampur, October 5 is the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati in Damoh. Not all ministers can be included in every meeting. Most of these meetings are held in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, but during the tenure of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, it was decided to hold these meetings in different parts of Madhya Pradesh. <p>A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale struck Myanmar. The tremors were felt as far as Delhi and several other states. The tremors were particularly strong in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Nagaland.</p>

<p>Tremors from a 6.2 magnitude earthquake were also felt in Bangkok, in addition to Myanmar and India. The first tremor in Myanmar struck at 11:52 AM, followed by a second at 12:02 PM. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the earthquake&#8217;s epicentre was 10 kilometres below the earth&#8217;s surface.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concern after a 7.2 scale quake jolted Myanmar and Thailand. &#8220;Concerned by the situation in the wake of the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. <p>Reportedly, Thailand&#8217;s stock exchange suspended trading after the Myanmar earthquake, said Reuters.</p>



<p>A building under construction in the Chatuchak district collapsed following the earthquake, trapping 43 workers, according to the National Institute for Emergency Medicine, reported Nation Thailand. Seven workers managed to escape the site, and the Narenthorn Emergency Medical Services Center, along with its rescue network, has been dispatched to provide immediate assistance.</p>



<p>According to social media platform X, a video shows buildings shaking in Bangkok and other cities, with people running to the streets in panic.</p>

<p>The epicentre of the earthquake felt in Bangkok was in Myanmar, 1,200 kilometres away. Despite the distance, it caused buildings to shake, cracks to appear, and forced people to evacuate their homes. Water from rooftop pools began pouring down as the tremors struck.</p>

<p><strong>Eid Holiday:</strong> Haryana government employees will not receive a holiday for Eid this year. The BJP government, led by Deputy Chief Minister (Nayab Singh Saini), has issued a notification cancelling the Eid holiday. This decision has sparked debate in the state. The government&#8217;s latest order removes Eid from the list of gazetted holidays, declaring it a Restricted Holiday (RH). This means the holiday is optional, and government offices will function as usual.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work on March 31st</h2>



<p>According to the new notification, the government&#8217;s rationale is that Eid falls on March 31st, a Monday. This follows a weekend (Saturday, March 29th, and Sunday, March 30th). Furthermore, March 31st is the last day of the financial year 2024-25, known as the Financial Year Closing Day. Government departments need to complete accounting and financial tasks on this day. The government claims this decision to cancel the Eid holiday was made considering these circumstances.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pre-existing Leave on March 29th and 30th</h2>



<p>The notification clearly states, “Due to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday (March 29th and 30th) will be holidays. This decision has been taken because March 31st (Monday) is the closing day of the financial year.” Under this order, the Eid holiday has been converted into a Restricted Holiday, meaning employees are free to take it, but it will not be mandatory for everyone.</p>

<p>Udaipur News: Police in Udaipur, Rajasthan, have busted a large sex racket. The Govind Vilas police and a special police team raided a villa and arrested 11 girls and a pimp. This pimp had brought these girls from Mumbai, Delhi, Barabanki, Kolkata, and Agra for sex trafficking.</p>



<p>The Govind Vilas police station officer, Dilip Singh, and the special team in-charge, Shyam Singh Ratnu, received information about illegal sex trafficking at a villa located in Vaidehi Vihar, Jogi Talab. The police team began surveillance on the villa before conducting the raid.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Officer Poses as a Customer</h2>



<p>A police officer from the team was sent undercover as a customer into the villa in Vaidehi Vihar. Here, the police officer met a pimp who introduced him to the girls and asked him to choose one. After the girl was chosen, the price was negotiated. The pimp then sent the undercover officer and the girl into a room. At this point, the police officer informed Deputy Suryaveer Singh Rathore via phone.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pimp&#8217;s Shock</h2>



<p>Upon receiving the information, the police team raided the villa. A man was found sitting on a sofa who identified himself as Om Prakash Jain, a resident of Shanti Nagar, Savina. The pimp, Om Prakash, was shocked upon seeing the police. The police seized objectionable material from the room. A girl was also apprehended from the same room.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ten More Girls Found in Another Room</h2>



<p>Ten other young women, brought for sex trafficking, were found in another room of the villa. They attempted to flee upon seeing the police but were unsuccessful. During questioning, all the girls stated that Om Prakash had brought them from Mumbai, Delhi, Barabanki, Kolkata, and Agra to Udaipur and made them work in the sex trade. The police team has arrested everyone and is currently questioning them.</p>

<p>Recruitment for permanent teaching positions in Delhi&#8217;s government schools may begin soon. This recruitment drive will fill a total of 9000 positions. The Directorate of Education is preparing for this. The recruitment will be conducted by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notification to be released by May</h2>



<p>According to available information, there are over 70,000 positions in Delhi&#8217;s government schools, of which around 66,000 are filled by teachers. Approximately 12,000 teachers are temporary. During the previous government&#8217;s tenure, most recruitments were of temporary teachers. Even when teachers left their positions, they were replaced with temporary teachers. Now, Delhi&#8217;s government schools will recruit permanent teachers. According to a senior official from the Directorate of Education, these recruitments will be for PGT and TGT teachers. However, a notice has not yet been issued. The notice is likely to be released in April or May.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Increased Focus on Science Subjects</h2>



<p>From the 2025-2026 academic year, Delhi&#8217;s government schools will promote the science stream. The Directorate of Education is working on this plan. Under this, there is a possibility of implementing the science stream in over 600 schools. With the implementation of the science stream, labs will also be constructed, and student interest in the subject will be increased. Currently, the science stream is taught in approximately 430 schools.</p>

<p><strong>MP News:</strong> The Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) has been designated as the nodal agency for the Bhopal Metropolitan Region (BMR) to develop Bhopal on the lines of a greater capital. The same responsibility has been assigned to the Indore Development Authority (IDA) in Indore. The Bhopal Metropolitan Region includes Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, Narmadapuram, and Rajgarh.</p>

<p>Rishabh Pant&#8217;s Highest Score in IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets in the 7th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The LSG captain won the toss and opted to bowl first. This decision drew criticism on social media, but Pant had other plans. Shardul Thakur, unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, struck twice in his second over, setting the tone for Lucknow&#8217;s victory. While Thakur provided the early breakthroughs, Nicholas Pooran&#8217;s efforts couldn&#8217;t quite compensate, and the 27 crore player&#8217;s bat remained largely silent.</p>



<p>Lucknow Super Giants acquired Rishabh Pant for a staggering 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, the highest bid in IPL history. Questions arose about whether Pant was truly worth this price. In the first two matches of IPL 2025, Pant&#8217;s batting was underwhelming. Despite playing on pitches conducive to batting, the Lucknow captain managed only 15 runs across both matches. He was dismissed for a duck in the first match and scored 15 runs off 15 balls in the second. At the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, where most batsmen had strike rates exceeding 200, Pant&#8217;s strike rate barely reached 100.</p>



<p>This raised further questions about LSG&#8217;s decision to buy Pant for 27 crore. The cost per run for Pant has become exorbitant, at a whopping 1 crore 80 lakh. Although Lucknow won against Hyderabad, Pant&#8217;s captaincy lacked impact, and his batting failed to deliver. Against Hyderabad, Pant attempted a response with a massive six, but was soon dismissed, leaving his team in a precarious position.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pant&#8217;s Post-Match Comments</h2>



<p>After the match, Pant said, “It’s a big relief, but as a team, we talk about the process. It’s not about getting too excited when you win and too disappointed when you lose. As a team, we can’t focus on things we can’t control, my mentor said focus on things you can control and I did that. It was good to see the way Prince bowled and Thakur also bowled really well. We haven’t played our best cricket yet, but happy to get the win.”</p>

<p>The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS 1) 2025. Candidates can view and download the examination schedule in PDF format by visiting the official website upsc.gov.in. According to the UPSC notification, the CDS 1 examination 2025 will be held on 13 April (Sunday). This examination will be held in three shifts.</p>

Chhattisgarh: Great news for NEET, JEE aspirants! Collector launches free coaching


<p>The Chhattisgarh government has extended a helping hand to young people dreaming of becoming doctors and engineers. Meritorious students will receive free coaching from the district administration. Collector Abhinash Mishra has launched the Umang Abhiyan for meritorious students of the district taking the NEET and JEE examinations. Under this campaign, 100 students will be provided high-level free coaching for the NEET and JEE examinations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NEET Exam: Classes to Commence on 28th</h2>



<p>Under this campaign, free coaching for students will commence on March 28th at the Mennonite Hindi Medium School. While launching this campaign today, Collector Mishra and the CEO of the Zila Panchayat, Roma Shrivastava, encouraged the district&#8217;s students. In a motivational session held at the local Hardiha Sahu Samaj building, the Collector gave tips on study methods and success to students appearing for the JEE and NEET examinations.</p>



<p>The Collector told the students that success can only be achieved through self-belief and hard work. He advised students to solve the previous three years&#8217; question papers of competitive examinations, take as many mock tests as possible, and improve their strongest topics/subjects. During this time, both officials also shared their experiences from their student lives. Parents of the students were also present at the motivational session and resolved their doubts and queries regarding their children&#8217;s studies and careers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hard Work Never Fails</h2>



<p>The CEO of the Zila Panchayat, Roma Shrivastava (रोमा श्रीवास्तव), urged students to believe in themselves and compete with themselves every day. <p>Jagdal (जगदल्ले) informed that keeping in mind the upcoming NEET examination on May 4th, this coaching is starting from March 28th at the Mennonite Hindi Medium School in Dhamtari city. Meritorious students from government and non-government higher secondary schools across the district have been selected for this free coaching. He informed that counselling for the students and their parents has also been conducted in the presence of the Collector and the Zila Panchayat CEO.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Class Timings</h2>



<p>Coaching classes will run daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be a lunch break during this time. There will be four sessions of one and a half hours each per day. Study material will also be provided to the students. Students&#8217; preparations will be tested daily through mock tests. Subject experts will also resolve students&#8217; doubts regarding the subject in the classes. Methods of solving more questions in less time will also be taught.</p>
