पुरस्कार समारोह और रंगारंग कार्यक्रम के साथ आठ दिन से जारी 30वें कोलकाता अंतरराष्ट्रीय फिल्मोत्सव का बुधवार को समापन हो गया। देश-विदेश की कुल 175 फिल्में दिखाई गईं। इनमें से 30 लघु एवं तथ्य चित्र और प्रतियोगिता वर्ग में कुल 42 फिल्में दिखाई गईं। इनमें से भारतीय भाषा के प्रतियोगिता वर्ग में कन्नड़ फिल्म लाछी को सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म और आर्यन चंद्र प्रकाश को फिल्म आजूर में निर्देशन के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक पुरस्कार दिया गया। इस वर्ग में सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक को पांच लाख और सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म को 10 लाख पुरस्कार दिया जाता है।

MP News : Former Major General G.D. Bakshi, who arrived in Jabalpur, targeted those who do politics of caste in the country. He said that it is a matter of great sorrow that even after 75 years of independence, caste politics is still happening in the country. Bakshi advocated for reservation based on economic criteria rather than caste. He also launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, saying that it is time for Pakistan to be divided into four parts.



Retired Major General G.D. Bakshi, addressing attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh, stated that Bangladesh should be captured and declared a Hindu nation. He asserted that the time for conflict with Bangladesh has arrived. Expressing anger over remarks labelling Hindutva as a disease, Bakshi also criticised former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, referring to her, without naming her directly, as a &#8220;living example of a snake in the grass.&#8221;

Retired Major General G.D. Bakshi also raised concerns about the Agniveer recruitment scheme, calling it a rushed decision. He argued that in four years, a soldier cannot be adequately prepared to serve the nation, nor can a sense of bonding with the country and the armed forces be cultivated in such a short span. Bakshi emphasised that a longer tenure is essential to develop dedication towards the military and commitment to the nation. He urged the government to reconsider the Agniveer scheme. Bakshi was in Jabalpur to attend an event organised by the Parakram Foundation.

Tragic Borewell Rescue: Aryan Loses Battle for Life After 56-Hour Operation

Dausa: The 5-year-old Aryan, who was trapped in the borewell for three days in the Kalaikhar village of Paprada police station area, was finally taken out around 11:45 pm on Wednesday. The child was immediately taken to the Dausa district hospital in an ambulance equipped with advanced life support systems, where doctors declared him dead after an ECG. The rescue operation lasted for about 56 hours. The news of the child&#8217;s death has created a mournful atmosphere.



According to the information, the NDRF team again used the umbrella device, ring device, and three rods tied with rope to pull out the child on Wednesday night around 10 pm. Earlier, on Wednesday, a new tunnel was being dug about 6 feet away from the borewell, but it was abandoned. Aryan had fallen into the open borewell while playing on Monday afternoon.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts of Tamil Nadu. According to an IMD bulletin, there is a possibility of a cold wave in western Rajasthan from December 9 to 14, while Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and western Uttar Pradesh will experience cold wave conditions from December 11. The IMD defines cold wave conditions as a significant drop in temperature compared to normal climate values at a given location.

Weather Update: Due to the possibility of heavy rain, all schools in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu will remain closed. Holidays have been declared in schools in Chennai, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Tiruvarur, Ranipet, and Tiruvallur districts.

Good News: 23,100 meritorious students of classes 8th, 10th, and 12th will get tablets

Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will inaugurate the newly constructed Vidya Samiksha Kendra at the Education Complex on Thursday. This program will be organised virtually, in which the Chief Minister will inaugurate the centre by pressing a button during the mega job fair being held in Jodhpur. During this, the inauguration of 8020 smart classrooms set up in 4010 government schools of the state at a cost of around 9624 lakh rupees will also take place.



Along with this, 23,100 meritorious students of classes 8th, 10th, and 12th will be given tablets and 75,325 skill kits of 7 sectors including agriculture, automobile, beauty and wellness, healthcare, apparel makeup, and plumbing will also be distributed. In this regard, Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that this centre will monitor the data of more than 81 lakh students, 4 lakh teachers, and 1.5 lakh employees of 68,000 schools in the state. This platform is connected to the National Education Review Center, which will ensure accurate monitoring of the state&#8217;s education performance indicators.



The Education Minister stated that this initiative will serve as a significant milestone in the development of students, empowering teachers, and strengthening administrators through the use of technology, data, and artificial intelligence.



The Education Minister said that with the launch of the ambitious project by the Chief Minister, the state would move forward towards reaching new heights in the field of education. He added that this modern technological initiative would contribute to a brighter and more prosperous future for the state&#8217;s students.

Visually Impaired Ayushi Dabas Success Story: Out of lakhs of candidates, only a few can crack the UPSC CSE exam. However, every year, many students work hard to clear this tough exam. One such story is of 29-year-old Ayushi Dabas, who achieved success in the UPSC exam despite facing many obstacles.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Success Achieved on the 5th Attempt</h2>



Despite being visually impaired, Ayushi dared to dream of clearing the UPSC exam, one of the toughest exams in the country. Ayushi cracked the UPSC CSE 2021 exam in her 5th attempt, securing an AIR rank of 48. She started preparing for the UPSC exam in 2016.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Graduated from DU&#8217;s College</h2>



In an interview, Ayushi said that she was confident of clearing the exam but didn&#8217;t expect to get such a high rank. She was extremely happy to secure a rank below 50. Born and brought up in Uttar Pradesh, Ayushi completed her schooling at Rani Khera. She then moved to Delhi for higher education and graduated from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College. She topped in all three years of her college life. Later, she pursued a postgraduate degree in History from IGNOU and also did a B.Ed from JMI. Before becoming an officer, Ayushi was a teacher.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Credits Her Mother for Success</h2>



Ayushi&#8217;s mother is a homemaker, and her father works in a private company in Punjab. Ayushi credits her mother for her success. Her mother, a senior nursing officer, took voluntary retirement in 2020 and dedicated herself to Ayushi&#8217;s studies. Asha Rani encouraged her daughter to work hard and clear the exam.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Success Mantra for UPSC Aspirants</h2>



In an interview, Ayushi shared, “Until 2016, I didn’t even know how to use a mobile phone. My entire family came together and recorded study materials for me, which I would listen to on replay. Hard work, combined with smart work, played a key role in my journey.” Ayushi’s success mantra is: “I Never Say Never.”

Professor Recruitment: Direct Hiring Begins in Colleges, Submit Documents by This Deadline

Professor Recruitment: Under the Higher Education Department, the document verification process for 86 posts of professors in 13 subjects started on December 10, but on the first day, there was a dispute over the API (Academic Performance Indicator) numbers, and only one document could be verified. However, on the second day, the officials formed three panels to improve the document verification.



50 more applicants submitted their documents. A format was set for the documents, in which the API numbers were added, and the applicants submitted their documents. Along with this, the applicants also submitted an affidavit confirming the accuracy of all the information.



The document verification process for professor recruitment is underway for 13 subjects. A total of 86 posts are vacant in these subjects, including English, Microbiology, Public Administration, Ancient Indian History, Biotechnology, Military Science, Astrology, Philosophy, Anthropology, History, Sanskrit, and Home Science. Out of 255 applicants, 255 have been called for the document verification process. The date for the document verification process for the remaining 17 subjects has not been announced yet.



The meaning of API (Academic Performance Indicator) is that the eligible candidates for the professor post add their API numbers. This includes the publication of their research papers and all their seniority achievements, which are added according to the UGC Teaching Guidelines. However, the officials did not pay attention to these things, and a dispute arose, which led to a delay in the document verification process on the first day, and only one document could be verified.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1500 Applications Received for 595 Posts</h2>



There are over 300 colleges affiliated with higher education in Chhattisgarh, and there are more than 600 vacant posts of professors. The recruitment process for 595 posts started in 2021, but it has not been completed yet. Initially, there were many disputes, which led to the process being stalled. Now, the recruitment process has started again, and applications have been invited. More than 1500 applications have been received, including 348 government assistant professors. The document verification process started on December 10 and will continue until December 17 for 86 posts.

Earthquake of 5.6 magnitude hits Wallis and Futuna

On Thursday, 12 December, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Wallis and Futuna. The epicentre was located 100 kilometres south of Alo, in this French island territory situated in Oceania. The earthquake occurred at 7:21 am Indian Standard Time and was confirmed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Depth of the earthquake</h2>



According to the information, the depth of the earthquake that hit Wallis and Futuna today was 10 kilometres.
