Originally from Nepal, Mahalaxmi got married to Hemant Das five years ago. The couple has a four-year-old child. However, their relationship turned sour, and Mahalaxmi started living in Bengaluru alone. She worked as a salesperson in a mall and didn’t interact much with her neighbors.
Former husband claims she had an affair with Ashraf
According to Mahalaxmi’s former husband Hemant Das, she had an affair with Ashraf. Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwar has stated that the accused is suspected of hiding in West Bengal. The woman’s body was found in an apartment in Bengaluru. The Home Minister has denied any arrests so far. The police have stated that Mahalaxmi was living alone in a rented house in the Vyaliaval area. Her husband arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident and accused Ashraf, a hairdresser, of the crime.
What did her brother say?
According to her brother Sunil, who works in Koramangala, Mahalaxmi had not been in touch with them for several days. He told the media, “I received information from a relative and came to meet her. We hadn’t spoken or met in a while.” A neighbor stated that Mahalaxmi had moved to the first floor of the building five months ago. The neighbor said, “She hardly ever came home, leaving at 9:30 am and returning at 10:30 pm. A man who claimed to be her brother stayed with her for some time, but we didn’t know she was married.” The police are now investigating her workplace to find out why no one questioned her absence. Officials are also tracking a person who used to visit her frequently and take her away.
