An eighth-grade student in Surat, Gujarat, committed suicide by hanging herself at home. The child&#8217;s family alleges that the school administration prevented her from taking the examination due to outstanding fees. They claim she was subjected to two days of physical and mental harassment, including being made to stand near the bathroom. Distressed by this, she took her own life.



Bhavna (14), daughter of Rajubhai Khatik residing in the Godadara area of Surat, was a student at Adarsh Public School. Rajubhai stated that his daughter was barred from taking the examination before Makar Sankranti due to outstanding fees. She came home crying. He claims he called the school and requested to pay the fees the following month, but she continued to be harassed. It is reported that on Monday, all family members were at a relative&#8217;s house when Bhavna hanged herself from a ceiling fan. Upon their return, the family took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Missing: Principal</h2>



Regarding this incident, the school principal stated that they never demand fees directly from students, only informing parents about outstanding payments. They claim the allegations are false and that the student was missing. The state&#8217;s Education Minister, Prof. Prafull Panseriya, has assured an investigation into the parents&#8217; allegations.

CG Naxal Encounter: 19 Naxals Killed, Drones Monitor Area, Amit Shah Calls it Stern Reply to Naxalism

In a fierce encounter in the Bhaludiggi hills of Gariaband district, Chhattisgarh, security forces have eliminated 19 Naxalites. Sporadic firing continues in the jungle. Police sources suggest the death toll may rise by evening. It is reported that the security personnel, aided by drones, located and eliminated the Naxalites one by one. Some of the killed Naxalites carried a bounty of ₹1 crore.



Reports indicate that senior Naxal leaders at the national and state levels had gathered in Gariaband. Seeking a safe haven amidst intensified attacks in Bastar, they had converged here. The Bhaludiggi area was considered a safe haven for Naxalites, but this operation has exposed its vulnerability. Further searches are underway, with drones deployed to locate any remaining Naxalites.

Maha Kumbh 2025: The Mahakumbh is underway in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The Kumbh Mela presents a spectacle of diverse saints and ascetics (sant-mahant). Devotees, after taking a dip in the Sangam, visit the saints&#8217; camps to seek blessings and witness their unique appearances. This is one of the world&#8217;s largest religious gatherings. Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Saturday.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PM Modi&#8217;s Visit to Prayagraj</h2>



According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Prayagraj on February 5th. During this potential visit, he is expected to review several important government schemes and participate in various programmes. Stringent security arrangements will be implemented in the Sangam area and its surroundings during the Prime Minister&#8217;s visit. The administration has instructed officials to ensure all preparations are completed on time.

A Yogi Cabinet meeting will be held in Prayagraj on January 22nd during the Mahakumbh. Subsequently, Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the Mahakumbh on January 27th. INDW vs MLYW in Under 19 Women&#8217;s T20 World Cup 2025: The 16th match of the ICC Under-19 Women&#8217;s World Cup, Group A, was played on Tuesday, 21 January, between India and Malaysia at the Bayumas Oval in Kuala Lumpur. India recorded a record victory in just 17 balls. India&#8217;s captain Niki Prasad won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first after losing the toss, Malaysia was bowled out for a mere 31 runs in 14.3 overs. India&#8217;s bowling was so lethal that no Malaysian batter could even reach a score of 5 runs. India then chased down the target in 2.5 overs without losing any wickets, winning by 10 wickets. Vaishnavi Sharma was the hero of India&#8217;s victory, being named Player of the Match for her five-wicket haul, which included a hat-trick.



Malaysia&#8217;s start, batting first after losing the toss, was extremely poor.
