कोटा.देश की प्रतिष्ठित इंजीनियरिंग प्रवेश परीक्षा जेईई मेन 2025 का जनवरी सेशन बुधवार से शुरू हो गया। 30 जनवरी तक चलने वाली इस परीक्षा में देशभर से 14 लाख से अधिक छात्र पंजीकृत हुए।
केंद्रों पर सुरक्षा के कड़े इंतजाम किए गए। छात्रों को केवल ओरिजिनल आईडी, पारदर्शी पेन, फोटो, और पानी की बोतल के साथ प्रवेश दिया गया। इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गैजेट, मोटे सोल के जूते, मैटेलिक बटन वाले कपड़े प्रतिबंधित रहे। एआई-आधारित कैमरों से मॉनिटरिंग और मेटल डिटेक्टर से तलाशी ली गई।

प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष डॉ सुकांत मजूमदार ने कहा कि पश्चिम बंगाल में भाजपा की सरकार बनी तो गंगासागर मेले को अवश्य राष्ट्रीय मेले का दर्जा दिया जाएगा। मकर संक्रांति के अवसर पर सुकांत गंगासागर में पुण्य स्नान करने पहुंचे थे। मजूमदार ने कपिल मुनि मंदिर के महंत के उत्तराधिकारी संजय दास से मुलाकात की। इस दौरान उन्होंने गंगासागर मेले के गेट और मेले को राज्य के मुख्य हिस्से से जोडऩे के लिए मूड़ी गंगा पर लगभग पांच किलोमीटर लंबी प्रस्तावित पुल के निर्माण के लिए मुख्यमंत्री की ओर से ठीक से केंद्र सरकार से संपर्क नहीं करने का आरोप लगाया।

Jalgaon Train Crash: 11 Dead, 11 Injured, Rs 5 Lakh Compensation Announced

A horrific rail accident occurred on Wednesday evening in Pachora, Jalgaon district, Maharashtra. At least 11 passengers lost their lives due to a rumour of a fire on the train. Officials stated that the deceased passengers were from the Pushpak Express. Eleven passengers of the Pushpak Express died and 11 were injured, four critically, after being hit by the Karnataka Express. Following this tragic incident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences and announced a compensation of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How did the accident happen?</h2>



The Pushpak Express was heading towards Mumbai. The incident occurred 40 km from Jalgaon. It is reported that a passenger pulled the chain after fearing a fire in a general compartment. This caused the train to stop, and several passengers jumped off. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Express on the adjacent track arrived, resulting in several passengers being hit.



Upon receiving information, railway officials and other staff arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation. Minister in the Maharashtra government, Gulabrao Patil, stated that 11 people died and 4 were critically injured, while 7 others sustained minor injuries. There are fears that the death toll may rise. Passengers were standing outside their coaches at the time of the accident, suspecting a fire on the train.

Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam said, “11 people have died in the unfortunate accident involving passengers of the Pushpak Express. The District Magistrate, District Superintendent, and all senior officials have reached the spot. Eight 108 ambulances of the Maharashtra government have been sent there. The railway rescue van has also reached there. Full assistance is being provided by the administration… People can contact the helpline number of the District Magistrate&#8217;s office there…”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to inquire about the Jalgaon train accident. He said, “The Jalgaon rail accident is extremely sad. I spoke to CM Fadnavis in this regard and got information about the accident. The local administration is providing all possible help to the injured. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.”



Meanwhile, Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan tweeted, “Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate death of some passengers after being hit by another train near Jalgaon. My condolences to those who lost their lives. Wishing speedy recovery to the injured.”

The threatening email stated: “We are monitoring your every move. This is a sensitive matter and not a public stunt or an attempt to harass you. We request you to take this message very seriously and maintain confidentiality. Failure to comply will result in dangerous consequences affecting your professional and personal life. We expect an immediate response within the next 8 hours. Failure to respond will be considered a lack of seriousness, and we will take necessary action. Vishnu.”

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">FIR Filed</h2>



The Mumbai Police, taking the matter seriously, have filed an FIR based on the complaints filed by Rajpal Yadav and Remo D&#8217;souza. The investigation is underway to determine the sender&#8217;s motives and demands.



Reports suggest that TV actress Sugandha Mishra has also received threats from the same sender.

UP Ghaziabad Crime: Police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, busted a sex trafficking operation running out of Ayush Hotel in the Kaushambi police station area. A stampede ensued upon the police&#8217;s arrival. Police seized objectionable material from the hotel and arrested nine people, including a 60-year-old man and the hotel operator.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven Women Rescued</h2>



Police rescued seven women who had been lured into the operation with promises of high income and sent them home. According to police, the hotel manager, Sagar Singh Negi (resident of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand), and Nisha (resident of Trilokpuri, Delhi), enticed women with the promise of well-paying jobs before forcing them into sex work.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Accused Escapes</h2>



Police found men and women in objectionable positions in the hotel rooms during the raid. Police seized objectionable material, a scanner for online transaction apps, and the hotel register. In addition to the 60-year-old man and the hotel operator, a total of seven people were arrested. Police are now searching for Vikram Singh alias Vicky, a resident of New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, who managed to escape during the raid.

MP Board Paper Leak: Even before the pre-board examinations of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) could begin, question papers for classes 10 and 12 were leaked across social media platforms. This incident raises serious questions about the credibility of the examination process. The misuse of social media platforms like Instagram, Telegram, and YouTube, through numerous fake accounts sharing question papers and solutions, has undermined both students&#8217; hard work and the fairness of the examination system.



District Education Officer Anand Sharma told Patrika that paper leaks are uncommon in pre-board exams as these are conducted at the school level, primarily to prepare students for the board exams. The pre-board papers are prepared by school teachers and handled within a limited scope. Their purpose is to assess student performance and provide opportunities for improvement. Any rumours of such incidents are usually based on misunderstandings or unverified information, possibly intended to unnecessarily worry students. Students are advised to ignore such rumours and focus on their studies; consistent and honest preparation is key to success.



The education officer, Anand Sharma, explained the system in MP: Each principal has a login ID through which they access the papers on the Vimarsh portal. After printing, the principal provides copies to photocopiers. The leak may have occurred at the photocopying shop. However, he added that whether or not a pre-board paper leaks is inconsequential, as the pre-board&#8217;s purpose is practice. Even if students study leaked papers, they will only pass if they write what they have studied, as there is no pass or fail criteria. Model papers are provided for practice. The pre-board&#8217;s sole purpose is to provide exam practice; there is no pass/fail provision.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The System in MP</h2>



The education officer, Anand Sharma, stated that access to the papers is granted through individual login IDs provided to each principal across the state. The papers are sent to their IDs on the Vimarsh portal. Principals then print them and give them to photocopiers. It is possible that the leak originated from the shop where the papers were photocopied. However, it&#8217;s also true that in pre-board exams, whether or not a paper leaks makes no difference, as the purpose is practice.



If students have studied leaked material, they will only pass if they write what they have studied, as there is no pass or fail. Model papers are now provided so students can practice. Even if they obtain and study a leaked paper, it will still help them. The purpose of pre-board exams is to provide exam practice; there is no pass/fail provision.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Biology Paper Leaked 2 Hours Before Exam, Maths Paper 21 Hours Before</h2>



—The class 12 Biology paper, scheduled for 21 January, was leaked on social media two hours before the exam. This paper was leaked on Telegram.



—The English paper, scheduled for 11 am on Monday, was available on social media six hours before the exam.



—The mathematics paper, scheduled for Tuesday, was leaked 21 hours before the exam.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Social Media Accounts Using Unofficial Names</h2>



Investigations revealed that the papers were shared on several social media accounts, including Munna bhai yt, Mp bord official, Sdlclasses, Mp bord secondryhighereducation, and others. Some sites also provided solved papers along with the question papers.
