
<p>JDA Residential Scheme: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is offering a golden opportunity to Rajasthan residents. Under the Atal Vihar Yojana, 284 residential plots are being made available at affordable rates. The application process commenced on 18 December 2024 and will continue until 17 January 2025. Plot allocation will be done through a lottery on 29 January 2025.</p>

<p>Following the resignation of Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister of Canada, several individuals have announced their candidacy for the position. Anita Anand, a person of Indian origin, was among the first to declare her candidacy. Now, another Indian-origin Hindu Canadian Member of Parliament, Chandra Arya, has also entered the race. Arya is considered a loyalist of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, he has voiced his opposition to several issues perceived as anti-India.</p>

<p>Chandra Arya announced his candidacy via a post on X, stating: “I am running to be the next Prime Minister of Canada to lead a small, more efficient government to rebuild our nation and secure prosperity for future generations.” Arya emphasised the need for Canada to have a government that is not afraid to make bold decisions, decisions he believes will revive Canada&#8217;s economy and create equal opportunities for all Canadians.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Who is Chandra Arya?</h2>



<p>Chandra Arya, the Indian-origin MP, hails from Dwaralu village in Tumkur district, Karnataka, India. He holds an MBA from the Kuvempu Institute of Management Studies, Karnataka University. He moved to Canada in 2006, serving as the president of the Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber before entering politics.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Entry into Politics</h2>



<p>Arya won his first election in the 2015 Canadian federal election, representing the Nepean riding. He was re-elected in both 2019 and 2021. He also serves as a member of the Standing Committee on International Trade. In 2022, Arya became the first MP to address the Canadian House of Commons in his mother tongue, Kannada.</p>



<p>Arya has been vocal on issues such as the vandalism of Hindu temples in Toronto earlier this year, attributing the attacks to Khalistani extremists. This stance garnered him significant attention.</p>

The minimum temperature may be around 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature around 20 degrees Celsius. Light rain and strong winds are expected on 11 January. Due to this, the maximum temperature may drop to 17 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to 9 degrees Celsius. Cloudy conditions are expected on 12 January, with light rain or drizzle in the morning. The maximum temperature may be around 18 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 10 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate fog is expected from 13 to 15 January. The weather will remain dry. The maximum temperature will be between 18 and 19 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 8 and 9 degrees Celsius.</p>

In Uttarakhand, the weather will be clear today and tomorrow. Thunderstorms are expected on 11 January. In Himachal Pradesh, dense fog and a cold wave are expected today. The weather may change on 11 January.</p>

<p>A heavy rain alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, fog will prevail in the morning on Friday, with sunshine during the day. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">BJP Calls AAP ‘Anti-Purvanchal’</h2>



<p>In response to AAP&#8217;s poster, the BJP retaliated. The Delhi BJP shared a picture of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal laughing on its X account, labelling the AAP as anti-Purvanchal. The BJP wrote, &#8220;Insulting the Purvanchal community is the identity of Sheesh Mahal&#8217;s Nawab Kejriwal.&#8221; The BJP poster further stated: &#8220;Enemy of Purvanchalis, labelled them fake, drove them away during Corona. Whenever he got a chance, the great cheat mocked them.&#8221;</p>



<p>Delhi Police on Friday detained Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and supporters who were protesting during the ‘Purvanchal Samman March’ outside the residence of Arvind Kejriwal. </p>

<p><strong>Satna Suicide</strong>: A shocking incident has come to light from Satna, Madhya Pradesh. A man, unable to repay his loan EMI, committed suicide (Satna Suicide) due to harassment and threats. The accused, after failing to recover the money, allegedly assaulted the deceased and issued daily threats. A case has been registered against two employees of the company under various sections. One accused has been arrested and sent to jail, while the other is absconding and a search is underway.</p>



<p>This entire incident (Satna Suicide) is reported from the Kolgaon police station area of Satna district. Ranjit, a young man, had taken a loan in instalments from Bajaj Finance Company. Unable to repay the loan EMI, two company employees, Satyam and Hari Om, began threatening him. Allegations of assault have also surfaced. Distressed by this, Ranjit consumed poison. Family members present at the scene rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved. He died during treatment.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Statement of the Deceased&#8217;s Father</h2>



<p>In his statement to the police, the deceased Ranjit&#8217;s father said, ‘The accused took the deceased Ranjit with them, beat him up and abused him. Ranjit was distressed by this. The accused also threatened to file a police case for non-payment of the EMI. Due to these reasons, he took his own life.’</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">FIR Registered</h2>



<p>The deceased&#8217;s family filed a complaint at the Kolgaon police station. Upon receiving the complaint, the police registered an FIR against the finance company employees under Crime No. 1519/24, Sections 296, 115(2), 140(3), 3(5) BNS 3(1)(d), 3(1)(dh), 3(2)(5k) SCST Act. Bihar Teacher Recruitment: Thousands of Posts Remain Vacant After Third Phase; Over 50,000 Seats Expected in Fourth


<p><strong>BPSC Teacher Vacancy:</strong> The Bihar government is continuously conducting examinations for the recruitment process of teachers and announcing the results. However, selecting qualified teachers remains a challenge for the government and the department. Recently, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) had released an advertisement for the recruitment of teachers for 87,774 posts under the third phase. However, only 66,608 teachers could be selected in this phase, leaving 21,166 posts vacant. Many of these selected teachers are already employed at the primary or secondary level.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BPSC Teacher Vacancy: Vacancy numbers may increase in the fourth phase</h2>



<p>To fill the vacant posts of teachers, the government is now preparing for recruitment in the fourth phase. According to media reports, initial estimates suggest that more than 50,000 vacancies are likely to arise in the fourth phase. More than 21,000 posts are already vacant. The government will assess the district-wise vacancies and release vacancies for new teacher posts. Qualified teachers are not being found for science and language subjects at the secondary and higher secondary levels. Particularly in SC, ST, and differently-abled quotas, fewer qualified candidates are appearing and passing the examination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BPSC Teacher: Subject-wise vacancies</h2>



<p>Speaking of subject-wise seats, only 566 candidates were selected against 485 Botany posts. For Zoology, 625 candidates were successful against 777 posts. Only 441 were selected for 1,961 Physics posts. Out of 1,220 Mathematics vacancies, only 779 were successful. Finally, for Chemistry, only 273 candidates could be selected out of 3,742 posts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BPSC also presented its side</h2>



<p>According to BPSC Secretary Satya Prakash Sharma, &#8220;A large number of posts remained vacant due to a shortage of qualified teachers. The situation is particularly bad in science subjects. The highest number of vacancies remained in Chemistry, where only 273 candidates were successful despite the minimum qualifying marks.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Sukma Encounter:</strong> Recently, an IED blast took place in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, where Naxals detonated a Scorpio vehicle carrying security personnel, resulting in several casualties. Following this, security forces have launched a counter-offensive. A series of intermittent firing exchanges lasting seven hours took place in the border region of Sukma and Bijapur districts. In the encounter between police and Naxals, security forces killed three Naxals and recovered weapons.</p>



<p>According to reports, a joint police party comprising DRG, STF, and Cobra forces was dispatched on Wednesday following intelligence reports about Naxal presence in the border region of Sukma and Bijapur districts. On Thursday at 10 am, an encounter occurred between Naxals and security personnel in the Kunchal and Palliguda forests. A brief exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the killing of three Naxals by the security forces. The identities of the three deceased Naxals have not yet been ascertained.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Three Naxal Bodies Recovered</h2>



<p>According to information received, while the police party was conducting a search operation, they were ambushed and fired upon by Naxals. The security personnel retaliated, engaging in intermittent firing for six hours. Seeing the overwhelming response from the security forces, the Naxals fled. A search of the encounter site led to the recovery of the bodies of three Naxals. Explosives and other daily necessities were also recovered near the bodies.</p>



<p>An encounter with Naxals took place in the border region of Sukma and Bijapur districts and the Chintaguppa and Pamed police station areas. In this encounter, the force killed three Naxals. Efforts are underway to identify the slain Naxals. – Kiran Chavan, SP, Sukma</p>

<p>SL vs AUS Test Series 2025: Australia will play their final Test series before the World Test Championship final in 2025 against Sri Lanka. Steve Smith has been appointed captain of the Australian team for this series. Also, the pace of the game that needs to be played at certain times.” He added, “I’m probably a little bit more relaxed now. I’m quite calm. I’ll just enjoy it.”</p>



<p>Smith served a two-year leadership ban for his role in the 2018 sandpapergate saga. Since the ban ended, the 35-year-old has captained his country four times. He captained Australia against England in Adelaide (2021), against the West Indies in Perth (2022), before captaining in some Test matches in India in 2023. Smith also led Australia on a tour of Sri Lanka in 2016, which ended in a disastrous 3-0 series defeat.</p>



<p>Speaking about Sri Lanka&#8217;s spin-friendly conditions, Smith said, “They can be tough conditions.” Smith added, “They play very well there, especially if the wickets are quite extreme. It’s just a matter of developing plans as batters… different ways that allow them to score and survive. It’s very different to playing spin in Australia. Whatever it is, just stick to it from ball one, trust it.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Run Away From 10,000 Test Runs</h2>



<p>Smith has his sights set on the major milestone of joining the 10,000-run club, after falling one run short of becoming the 15th player to achieve this feat in the Sydney Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Smith said, “One run… it was a bit heartbreaking at the time.” He added, “It would have been nice to do it at home in front of all my friends and family, but hopefully, I can get it done first up in Galle. I probably let it creep into my mind a bit too much during the game. It would be a fantastic milestone.”</p>

<p>Besides Jaiswal, other contenders for the opening batsman position include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan, and Rajat Patidar, who have all opened the batting for India in at least one ODI match since the 2023 World Cup.
