Diwali, the festival of lights, is just a few days away, and its excitement is palpable in the markets. Traders are also gearing up for the festival, and there is an increase in customer footfall. This year, Dhanteras will be celebrated on October 30, and Diwali on November 1. Laborers who had gone to states like Gujarat and Maharashtra for employment have also started returning to their villages.
In the Simlawa and Chikhli sub-district areas, the cleaning of homes and establishments, painting, and selling old items have been ongoing for the past two months. Markets are bustling with stalls selling clothes, ready-made garments, cattle feed, colors, crackers, beauty products, grocery items, Lal Ramji, shoes, Diwali calendars, sweets, gold and silver jewelry, two-wheeler and four-wheeler showrooms, and electronic goods.
In the villages of Prajapati Basti, a large number of earthen lamps are being made. Prepared at the chalk, these lamps are being delivered to every household according to ancient tradition.

With the arrival of Diwali, the decoration of homes has also begun. Markets are filled with colorful lights, diyas, candles, flowers, and other decorative items.
