
<p>India and Pakistan have decided to extend the agreement on the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for five years through diplomatic means. The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, which was signed on October 24, 2019, allows Indian pilgrims to travel to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal, Pakistan and was valid for five years. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the extension of the agreement&#8217;s validity would ensure the uninterrupted operation of the corridor for Indian pilgrims visiting the holy Gurdwara in Pakistan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Years of Free Travel Facility</h2>



<p>Considering the continuous requests from pilgrims, New Delhi has again urged Islamabad not to charge any fee from pilgrims. The agreement provides for visa-free travel for Indian pilgrims and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan daily throughout the year, without any service charge of $20 imposed by Pakistan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">India-Pakistan Kartarpur Corridor</h2>



<p>To facilitate the pilgrimage of devotees, a highway from Dera Baba Nanak city to Zero Point and a modern infrastructure including an Integrated Check Post (ICP) on the Indian side have been built. The CEO of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor is appointed by Pakistani authorities. Since its inauguration in November 2019, the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor has been used by around 2,50,000 pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.</p>

<p>The Sundarbans delta region, shared by India and Bangladesh, is facing a grave threat due to climate change. The sea level is rising at a rate twice as fast as the global average in this region. As a result, the very existence of the Royal Bengal Tiger, which inhabits this region, is under threat. The Sundarbans is one of the largest tiger habitats in the subcontinent and a first-grade tiger conservation unit (TCU). There is also a risk of its extinction in the next 35 years.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The International Union for Conservation of Nature has warned</h2>



<p>Environmental scientists have warned that if immediate and concrete steps are not taken, the majority of the Sundarbans, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be submerged in the sea, including the tiger&#8217;s habitat. According to a World Wildlife Fund study, the sea level is expected to rise by about one foot by 2070 in this region. The mangrove forests of Sundarbans protect the coastal area from cyclonic storms, but climate change is also threatening this ecosystem.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">World Bank has also sounded the alarm</h2>



<p>The World Bank has also warned about the rising water levels in the Sundarbans region. In its report, &#8220;Building Resilience for Sustainable Development of Sundarbans,&#8221; the World Bank has stated that the Sundarbans are at risk of flooding and cyclonic storms. The rising water level poses a threat to the very existence of the Sundarbans.</p>

With 70% of the world&#8217;s tigers found in India, there are currently 3,682 wild tigers in the country. The tiger population is growing at a very slow rate. India had around one lakh tigers a century ago, but the number has decreased by 97%. Although the tiger population has been increasing slowly over the past decade and a half, it is still a cause for concern. According to the 2014 census, the tiger population in India has increased by 30% between 2010 and 2015. In 2015, there were 3,000 tigers in India, which increased to 3,200 in 2014. In the past nine years, the tiger population in India has increased by only 482, including the Royal Bengal Tiger.</p>

<p>A recent study has revealed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is capable of diagnosing Corneal Infection with the same precision as eye specialists. This research highlights the crucial role of AI and deep learning models in healthcare services, which can revolutionize the diagnosis of eye diseases, particularly eye infections.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Corneal Infection: A Global Problem</h2>



<p>Keratitis infection, also known as Corneal Infection, is a major cause of blindness worldwide. Approximately 5 million people become blind every year due to this, and over 2 million people suffer from monocular blindness (blindness in one eye). This problem is particularly severe in low- and middle-income countries where access to eye care services is limited.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Birmingham University&#8217;s Meta-Analysis</h2>



<p>Researchers at Birmingham University conducted a meta-analysis of 35 studies to diagnose Keratitis infection. Their findings suggest that AI models have an accuracy similar to that of eye specialists. While eye specialists have a sensitivity of 82.2% and a specificity of 89.6%, AI models achieved a sensitivity of 89.2% and specificity of 93.2%.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Expert&#8217;s Opinion: AI&#8217;s Future</h2>



<p>Birmingham University&#8217;s eye specialist Dr. Darren Ting described the research results as revolutionary. He said, &#8220;Our research confirms that AI has unique capabilities in diagnosing Corneal Infection. This can be particularly helpful in areas where access to eye specialists is limited.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">AI&#8217;s Contribution to Healthcare</h2>



<p>According to the study, AI-powered models can be highly beneficial in areas where access to eye specialists is limited. This can not only increase the speed of diagnosis but also reduce the number of preventable blindness cases worldwide.</p>



<p>Furthermore, AI models can differentiate between various types of Corneal infections, such as bacterial or fungal infections, and healthy eyes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Caution and Future Possibilities</h2>



<p>Although this research highlights the effectiveness of AI, its clinical use requires more diverse data and external validation. Researchers emphasized the need for cautious evaluation and further studies to strengthen the reliability of AI models.</p>



<p>Artificial Intelligence not only simplifies the work of eye specialists but can also improve eye care in areas where specialist services are limited.</p>

Mohanty wrote in the post, &#8220;Germany had the Gestapo, Israel has Mossad, America has the CIA&#8230; now India has Lawrence Bishnoi&#8230; Next in line should be Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi.&#8221; This post glorifies gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail and is inciting violence. Such threats can pose a serious threat to public safety and the security of MP Rahul Gandhi. A demand has been made to file a case against Mohanty. Those who submitted the memorandum included Pradesh Congress Committee members Sunil Lara, Umesh Tank, Rahul Jajota, Rohit Khanna, Rajveer Gurjar, and Umesh Sarwan, along with NSUI office-bearers.</p>

In this case, the appellant-husband had received jewelry from his wife, which she had received from her mother, and had kept it in a locker. Instead of keeping the jewelry in the locker, the husband mortgaged it to a gold loan company without his wife&#8217;s consent and took a loan. The husband had challenged the sentence of six months imprisonment and a fine of five lakh rupees imposed by the Sessions Court in the High Court.</p>

<p>Delhi&#8217;s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena told the Supreme Court that he was not aware that permission was required to cut trees in the Ridge area of the capital, which is an extension of the Aravalli range. This was stated by the Lieutenant Governor in a personal affidavit filed before the court hearing. It is worth mentioning that in February, 642 trees were cut without the court&#8217;s permission.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Supreme Court asks LG to file a personal affidavit</h2>



<p>VK Saxena is also the chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The court had asked him to file a personal affidavit stating the steps being taken to fix responsibility for the alleged illegal felling of over 600 trees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did LG tell SC in his affidavit?</h2>



<p>Delhi&#8217;s Lieutenant Governor filed an affidavit on Tuesday night in response to the court&#8217;s order dated October 16. This case is related to a contempt petition filed by Bindu Kapoor, in which it was alleged that around 1100 trees were being cut to build a road in the southern Ridge area of Delhi. The petition alleges that the road is being built for the benefit of the CAPFIMS hospital, Delhi Police, CBI, NIA, and CISF, as well as other residential projects, including the SAARC University and multi-specialty hospitals.</p>



<p>Concerns have been raised about the environmental impact of this project, especially with regard to the felling of trees. The court had taken the matter seriously and sought a response from the government, following which the Lieutenant Governor filed his affidavit.</p>

<p>बेंगलूरु. बारिश ने यलहंका Yelahanka स्थित केंद्रीय विहार अपार्टमेंट Kendriya Vihar Apartment के लोगों को बीते दो सप्ताह से परेशान कर रहा है। कम होने के बजाय उनकी मुसीबतें बढ़ती जा रही हैं। कमर तक पानी भरने water logging के कारण कईयों को घर छोडऩे पर मजबूर होना पड़ा। बचाव दल ने कई लोगों को नाव की मदद से बाहर निकाला।</p>
<p>राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया बल (एनडीआरएफ) के एक अधिकारी ने कहा, हमें सूचना मिली थी कि अपार्टमेंट में 2,000 से 3,000 लोग फंसे हुए हैं। यहां तीन टीमें काम कर रही हैं और हमने फंसे हुए अन्य 200-300 लोगों को निकालने के लिए दूसरी जगह एक टीम भेजी है।एनडीआरएफ ने कई लोगों को सफलतापूर्वक बचाया। लगभग 50 अधिकारी ऑपरेशन में तैनात थे।</p>
