Identify Bangladeshis by searching thoroughly, CM issues directives to DM and SP

Committees will be responsible at the block, tehsil, and police station levels to identify Bangladeshi intruders. They said that special attention has been focused on areas where a large number of Bangladeshi intruders are living.

The Odisha government has instructed district collectors and police superintendents to identify Bangladeshi intruders in their respective jurisdictions. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in a written reply to BJP MLA Bhaskar Mahadei in the Assembly on Monday that district collectors and SPs have been asked to identify Bangladeshi intruders living in the state. Most of the intruders are living in Baragarh, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Bhubaneswar Urban Police Districts.
Patnaik said that committees will be responsible at the block, tehsil, and police station levels to identify Bangladeshi intruders. He said that special attention has been focused on areas where a large number of Bangladeshi intruders are living, especially in Kendrapara, Bhubaneswar, and Puri. According to the government’s latest official report, 3,740 Bangladeshi intruders are living in various districts.
