Maharashtra Election : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive public rally in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, on Thursday. During the rally, PM Modi targeted the Congress and the opposition alliance, Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA). Maharashtra will go to the polls on November 20, with a single-phase election for all 288 assembly seats, and the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
Addressing the election rally in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, PM Modi said, “This election is not just about choosing a new government. This election is a battle between those who respect Sambhaji Maharaj and those who eulogize Aurangzeb. The entire Maharashtra knows that it was Balasaheb Thackeray who demanded that this city be named Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The MVA government, which was in power for 2.5 years, did not have the courage to do so due to Congress pressure. However, our Mahayuti government changed the name of the city to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar as soon as we came to power. We fulfilled your wish, we fulfilled Balasaheb Thackeray’s wish.”
He further said, “Who was most troubled by the renaming of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar? It was the Congress party and the MVA people… Those who were nurtured by them went to court to challenge this decision.” The rally was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, and other senior Mahayuti leaders.

‘Mahayuti is ahead, progress is ahead’

PM Modi said, “Maharashtra needs to lead the vision of a developed India. BJP and Mahayuti are working with this resolve. Therefore, modern infrastructure development is taking place in Maharashtra today. However, the MVA has only increased Maharashtra’s problems and done nothing else. There has been a long-standing water crisis in Marathwada, but Congress and MVA people have always been sitting with their hands tied. Our government has started concrete efforts to tackle drought for the first time.”
He said, “These MVA people will keep you waiting for every drop of water. I request the public to not let these MVA people get a chance. Therefore, I say… BJP-Mahayuti is ahead, progress is ahead, Maharashtra’s progress is ahead.”
He also said, “Congress party believes in dividing society for power, not in development. Congress has been opposing reservation since the beginning. Congress’s mindset and agenda are still the same. Therefore, the OBC society has not been able to tolerate their prime minister for the past 10 years.”

If we are one, we are safe – PM

Targeting Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said, “Congress’s prince openly says in foreign countries that they will abolish reservation. Now, Congress and MVA are hatching a conspiracy to divide the SC/ST/OBC society into smaller castes. This is their agenda to come back to power.”
He said, “Congress thinks that if the OBC society gets divided, their strength will decrease, and they will get an opportunity to come back to power. This is why Congress is trying to come back to power. If Congress gets a chance, they will stop the reservation of SC/ST/OBC. Therefore, SC/ST/OBC should be aware of these conspiracies and stay united. We must remember – if we are one, we are safe.”
It is worth noting that Maharashtra is going to the polls on November 20, with a single-phase election for all 288 assembly seats, and the counting of votes will take place on November 23. The BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar) are in a fierce battle against the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP) in the state.
