
<p>Unemployment is at its peak in Rajasthan. The situation is such that there is a long queue of unemployed people waiting to get a government job. Applications are being filled for a government job in Rajasthan. So far, more than 4.25 lakh applications have been received. According to the posts, 580 applicants have submitted their forms for one seat. The last date for submitting the application form is still a week away, and the number is expected to increase further.</p>



<p>The matter is related to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission&#8217;s (RPSC) 2024 RAS and Subordinate Services Recruitment Examination. So far, more than 4.25 lakh candidates have applied for this examination. There are still six days left to apply.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Preliminary Examination</h2>



<p><br>The application process for RAS and Subordinate Services Recruitment-2024 started on September 19. Online applications can be submitted till October 18, 12 midnight. Secretary Ramanivas said that 346 posts in the state service and 387 posts in the subordinate service (a total of 733 posts) have been included. The preliminary examination will be held on February 2, 2025. The Commission has already released the syllabus.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven lakh applications last time</h2>



<p><br>When it comes to the number of applications received in the preliminary examination of RAS, the highest number of applications received so far is around seven lakh. In the 2023 examination, 6 lakh 97 thousand 51 candidates had applied for this examination. It is expected that the number of applications will exceed seven lakh in the 2024 RAS examination as well. So far, more than 4.25 lakh applications have been received, and there are still six days left to apply.</p>

<p>The President&#8217;s rule has been lifted in Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way for the formation of a new government in the Union Territory. The central government has issued a gazette notification to this effect. The notification, signed by President Droupadi Murmu, states that under Articles 239 and 239A of the Indian Constitution, and Section 73 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the President&#8217;s rule imposed on October 31, 2019, has been revoked. Immediately before the appointment of the Chief Minister, the President&#8217;s rule will be lifted from Kashmir.</p>

<p>After the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was formally divided into two Union Territories &#8211; Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, the President&#8217;s rule was imposed on October 31, 2019.</p>

<p>The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, was passed by Parliament on August 5, 2019. Under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed special state status, which was revoked on October 31, 2019.</p>



<p>The BJP had withdrawn its support from the PDP-led government, following which the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti resigned on June 19, 2018. The President&#8217;s rule was imposed on Jammu and Kashmir on October 31, 2019.</p>

The administration has deployed a large police force to maintain law and order in the area. <p>During the Durga idol immersion in Mahsi on October 13, two communities clashed, and a person died in the firing. Everyone will be provided security, but those who were negligent and caused the incident will be identified and strict action will be taken. The idol immersion will continue, and the administration and police officials have been instructed to be present on the spot and talk to religious organizations to ensure timely immersion.</p>

<p>The donation event was held today at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal 1, Abu Dhabi Ports, as part of the two-week &#8216;UAE stands with Lebanon&#8217; campaign which kicked off on October 8, collected 250 tonnes of relief material from diverse segments of society in Abu Dhabi.</p>



<p>Aid material gathered in the event, will help people in Lebanon suffering from the impact of the ongoing conflict. The in-kind donations were mobilised as per the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and under the supervision of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes&#8217; Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.</p>



<p>The aid collection was organised by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, with the participation of more than 4400 volunteers from various nationalities who packed 10000 baskets of supplies.</p>



<p>Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman, Board of Directors, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, stressed the depth of the historical relations between the UAE and Lebanon, which, he said, has been evident today in the wide public participation in the activities to collect humanitarian relief aid for its people facing the crisis.</p>



<p>Al Mazrouei has also referred to the spirit of human solidarity that marks the diverse segments of the UAE society consisting of a wide variety of nationalities, cultures and ethnicities who rose to the occasion to extend a helping hand to the people of Lebanon in their difficult circumstance.</p>

<p>It is estimated that India and South Africa will see a rapid increase in cancer cases and deaths between 2022 and 2045. Accident averted just before immersion, sudden fire breaks out in Kali Maa’s
idol, causing panic


<p>Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai took charge as the Director General of the Naval Medical Service on October 14. According to the Ministry of Defence, before taking over as DGMS, she was the first woman Commandant of AMC Centre and College. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1986: Appointment in Army Medical Corps</h2>



<p>According to the Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai was appointed to the Army Medical Corps on December 30, 1986. She is an alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. She has specialized in Pathology and Super Specialization in Oncopathology from the reputed All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Achievements of Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai</h2>



<p>Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai has been a professor and head of the Laboratory Sciences Department at AHRRC and BHDC. She has also been a professor in the Pathology Department, AFMC, Pune. She has a special interest in medical education. She was awarded the prestigious FAIMER Fellowship in 2013-14.</p>



<p>Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai was awarded the Sena Medal in 2024 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2018. She was commended by the Chief of the Army Staff in 2008 and 2012, and by the GOC-in-C (W) in 2010.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">First Woman Officer to Hold This Post</h2>



<p>Notably, earlier this month, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin became the first woman Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Service (DGAFMS). Vice Admiral Arti Sarin took charge as DGAFMS on October 1. She is the first woman officer to hold this post. The Supreme Court has also recently appointed her as a member of the National Task Force to prepare safe working conditions and protocols for medical professionals. Vice Admiral Arti Sarin has the rare distinction of serving in all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces.</p>

<p>The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at the residences of Jharkhand Minister Mithilesh Thakur&#8217;s PS Harendra Singh, his close aides, IAS officer Manish Ranjan, builder Vijay Agarwal, and several engineers and officers of the Water and Sanitation Department in connection with irregularities and money laundering in the Jal Jeevan Mission.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">20 locations raided by ED</h2>



<p>The ED teams conducted simultaneous raids at around 20 locations, including Ranchi and Chaibasa, early on Monday morning. The raids are being conducted at Vijay Agarwal&#8217;s residence in Indrapuri, Ratu Road, Ranchi, as well as at his other locations in Harmu and Morhabadi. IAS officer Manish Ranjan&#8217;s residence and the residence of Minister Mithilesh Thakur&#8217;s PS Harendra Singh are also being searched, with security personnel deployed at the locations. It is reported that several documents and electronic devices have been seized from these locations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What was the case</h2>



<p>The raids are being conducted in connection with a multi-crore scam in the Jal Jeevan Mission. The department&#8217;s cashier, Santosh Kumar, had embezzled Rs 23 crore. A case was registered, and Santosh Kumar is currently in jail. There have been complaints of irregularities and corruption in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in several districts of Jharkhand, with FIRs registered in some districts. The ED has taken these FIRs as the basis for its investigation. Minister Mithilesh Thakur is considered a powerful minister in the Hemant Soren government and was elected as an MLA from the Garhwa assembly seat in 2019. The ED investigation may also reach him.</p>

<p>The level of pollution in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad has reached a dangerous zone before Diwali. In the coming days, it will become even more hazardous. In Loni, Ghaziabad, the situation is even more critical, with the air quality index reaching 335, making the air harmful to the elderly and children. Eyes are burning, and people are facing difficulties in breathing.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pollution level reaches red zone before Diwali</h2>



<p>The district administration and pollution department have started taking measures to control this. Before Diwali, the pollution level has reached the red zone, and restrictions may be increased according to the GRAP guidelines. The reason is that garbage is being burnt everywhere, and construction work is being carried out openly without any restrictions or following any standards. As a result, the air quality is deteriorating gradually. In a few days, with the burning of crackers during Diwali and crop residue in other states, the pollution level is expected to increase even more.</p>

Only candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category can apply for this. No fee is required to be paid for this course. Applications can be submitted from October 10, and the last date to apply is October 30.</p>
