
<p>Rajasthan&#8217;s bank employees have demanded a holiday from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on November 1, between Diwali and Govardhan Puja. United Forum of Bank Unions&#8217; convener Mahesh Mishra has written a letter to the Chief Minister stating that according to the government&#8217;s notification, Diwali&#8217;s government holiday is on October 31, and Govardhan&#8217;s holiday is on November 2, but there is no order for November 1. After that, there is also a Sunday holiday on November 3.</p>



<p>Mishra says that bank employees from far-flung areas must leave immediately after Diwali puja on the night of October 31 to report to duty on November 1. If the Chief Minister also declares November 1 as a holiday in banks, then bank employees will also be able to celebrate Diwali with their families.</p>

<p><strong>Khel Ratna Award for 2024:</strong> 2024 was a special year for India in terms of sports. The country performed brilliantly in the Olympic and Paralympic events and achieved historic feats in cricket, chess, and several other sports. The government fully supported the athletes&#8217; tireless efforts, and it is now ready to honour those whose hard work yielded the most significant results. Four athletes, including young shooter Manu Bhaker, who created history by winning two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, and D Gukesh, the youngest world chess champion, will be awarded the country&#8217;s highest sports award, &#8216;Khel Ratna&#8217;. In addition, 32 other athletes will be awarded the Arjuna Award.</p>



<p>The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs announced the National Sports Awards 2024 on Thursday. The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a special ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 17 January 2025 at 11 am. Besides Manu Bhaker and Gukesh, Harmanpreet Singh, captain of the Indian men&#8217;s hockey team, who won a bronze medal at the Olympics, and para-athlete Praveen Kumar will be awarded the Khel Ratna. Manu not only hoisted the Indian flag in the individual event at the Olympic Games 2024 but also won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. This double success at the Paris Olympics has taken her to new heights of success.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gukesh Crowned Chess Champion</h2>



<p>Chess player D Gukesh will also be awarded the Khel Ratna Award. Gukesh achieved the honour of becoming the youngest world chess champion on 12 December last month. In the World Championship held in Singapore, Gukesh defeated Ding Liren of China to win the title. At just 18 years old, he became the world champion, a world record.</p>

New Year's Eve Truck Attack in New Orleans: 15 Dead, ISIS Flag Found


<p>A horrific attack took place in New Orleans, USA on New Year&#8217;s Day 2025. A large crowd had gathered near the French Quarter to celebrate when a man drove a truck into the throng, running over people and then opening fire. At least 15 people have died, and 25 more are injured. The FBI is investigating.</p>

<p>According to Reuters, Shamsud-Din Jabbar (42) was a former US soldier who served for 13 years, including a deployment to Afghanistan. A US citizen from Texas, he worked as a Human Resource Specialist and Information Technology Specialist in the US Army from 2007 to 2015. He then joined the Army Reserve as an IT expert until 2020, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.</p>

Weather Update: North India Shivers as IMD Issues 5-Day Alert for Delhi, UP, and Bihar


<p><strong>Weather Update:</strong> A severe cold wave is sweeping across northern India, including the national capital, Delhi. Besides Delhi, states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Jharkhand are experiencing severe cold conditions. The temperature in the plains is continuously dropping due to snowfall in the mountainous regions. No respite from the cold is expected in the coming days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the cold wave will persist for the next five days. Meanwhile, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cold Day and Dense Fog Alert Issued</h2>



<p>According to the meteorological department, dense fog and cold day conditions may persist in some parts of northwest and central India in the coming days. A cold day and severe cold day alert has been issued for several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Dense fog warnings have been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and the northeastern states. According to the IMD, except for some areas in eastern, northwest, and west-central India, minimum temperatures are likely to be above normal in most parts of the country in January.</p>

<p><strong>Road Accident in Ujjain:</strong> News of a horrific road accident has emerged from Madhya Pradesh. Five young men, travelling to Ujjain for a darshan of Mahakal, were victims of the accident. The accident was so severe that two died, while three others sustained serious injuries. This tragic incident occurred on the four-lane bridge on the Runija Road. It is reported that the car went out of control and crashed into a stationary container.</p>



<p>The three seriously injured young men were brought to the government hospital in Badnagar. After initial treatment, they were referred to the district hospital in Ujjain. The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted, and their bodies were handed over to their families.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">All occupants of the car were from Dhar</h2>



<p>According to information, all five young men, including the driver, were residents of Rajgarh (Dhar). They were going to Ujjain for a darshan of Lord Mahakal during the New Year. However, they became victims of the accident before they could see Mahakal. The accident occurred at 2:30 am on Wednesday. The car was carrying Harshideep Singh (24), son of Pankaj Singh (driver), Ayush (18), Kanha (19), Vikas (18), and Kanha alias Harshit, all residents of Rajgarh. The accident was so severe that the front of the car was completely destroyed. Harshideep and Kanha died at the scene. Vikas, Ayush, and Kanha alias Harshit were seriously injured. A JCB was used to remove the car.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sub-Inspector arrived at the scene</h2>



<p>Upon hearing about the accident, Sub-Inspector Hemant Katare arrived at the scene along with constable Rupesh Palen and other police personnel. They brought the injured and the bodies to the Badnagar government hospital, where after initial treatment, the three seriously injured were referred to the district hospital in Ujjain. Post-mortems of the deceased driver and another young man were conducted at the government hospital. After the post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to their families. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.</p>


<p>Five young men travelling in a car to visit the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, met with a horrific road accident. Two of them lost their lives at the scene, while the other three sustained critical injuries.</p>

Over 4,000 Railway Jobs for 10th Pass Candidates


<p><strong>Railway Jobs:</strong> The new year has brought a wave of new job opportunities. South Central Railway has announced recruitment for 10th pass candidates. This recruitment drive will fill more than 4,000 apprentice positions. Notably, both men and women can apply. Female applicants are exempted from any application fee. <p>Ajay Devgn&#8217;s film will also be released in the first month of 2025. This film marks the debut of his nephew, Aman Devgan. The film, titled &#8216;Azaad&#8217;, will be released on 17 January 2025. Raveena Tandon&#8217;s daughter, Rasha Thadani, will also be making her Bollywood debut with this film. Diana Penty will also be seen in the film.</p>

<p>Bollywood&#8217;s Khiladi Kumar Akshay&#8217;s &#8216;Sky Force&#8217; will also be released this year. According to media reports, the film will hit theatres on 24 January 2025. However, there has been no official announcement yet.</p>

NTA Launches New Website for NEET UG 2025


<p>The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a new website for NEET UG 2025. Students can visit this website to view the NEET UG syllabus. The new website address is <a href="neet.nta.nic.in">neet.nta.nic.in</a>.</p>



<p>The NTA issued a notice stating that the NEET UG syllabus has been finalised and uploaded to the NMC website. All candidates are advised to use this syllabus for their NEET UG preparation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NEET UG 2025 Application Process</h2>



<p>Registration for the NEET UG 2025 examination is expected to commence in February. However, no official confirmation regarding the dates has been released yet. The examination is scheduled for 4 May 2025.</p>

<p>A large number of students apply for the NEET UG examination every year. Last year, approximately 2.2 million students applied for the examination. In 2024, the NEET UG examination was conducted on 5 May in a single shift using pen and paper mode, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.</p>
