<p>राज्य के मुख्य सचिव सुधांश पंत ने शनिवार को कलेक्ट्रेट सभागार में बाड़मेर तथा जैसलमेर जिलों में प्रदेश सरकार की फ्लैगशिप योजनाओं के क्रियान्वयन और पब्लिक सर्विस डिलीवरी की समीक्षा की। इस दौरान सीएस पंत ने धरातल पर कल्याणकारी कार्यक्रमों की प्रगति पर भी चर्चा की। मुख्य सचिव ने कहा कि सरकारी सेवा में कार्य करते हुए सभी कार्मिकों में गौरवपूर्ण भाव होने चाहिए तथा काम के उपरांत संतोष का अनुभव होना चाहिए। सरकारी तंत्र से जुड़े प्रत्येक कार्मिक को पूर्ण संवेदनशीलता के साथ आमजन के कामकाज करने चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि एक बेहतर इंसान ही एक बेहतर अधिकारी या कर्मचारी हो सकता है। </p>

<p><strong>PM Modi in Delhi:</strong> Addressing a public gathering at Ramlila Maidan in Ashok Vihar, PM Narendra Modi took a jibe at Delhi&#8217;s former CM Arvind Kejriwal. PM Modi today, Friday, presented Delhi residents with various schemes worth ₹4,500 crore. He handed over the keys of newly constructed flats in Swabhiman Apartment, Ashok Vihar, to beneficiaries, stating that providing homes to citizens is his dream. The Prime Minister reportedly targeted Kejriwal for allegedly building a luxurious residence for himself as CM. PM Modi quipped, &#8220;I too could have built a &#8216;Sheesh Mahal&#8217;,&#8221; targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi Assembly elections are expected in February 2025.</p>

<p>Questioning Arvind Kejriwal, PM Narendra Modi said, &#8220;The country well knows that Modi never built a house for himself, but has built over 4 crore homes for the poor. I too could have built a &#8216;Sheesh Mahal&#8217;. I urge you all, whenever you meet or interact with those living in slums, ensure you tell them that they will definitely get a pucca house, if not today, then tomorrow.&#8221; The PM stated that the development of cities will play a crucial role in realising the goals of a developed India.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Nation engaged in building a &#8216;Developed India&#8217;</h2>



<p>PM Modi said that 2025 will be the year to strengthen India&#8217;s position in the world and make it a premium manufacturing hub. He stated, &#8220;Today, the entire nation is engaged in building a &#8216;Developed India&#8217;. We are working with the resolve that every citizen of the country has their own pucca house in a &#8216;Developed India&#8217;. Delhi has a very big role in this resolve, therefore, the BJP-led central government has launched a campaign to build pucca houses in place of slums. People come here from far and wide with their dreams and dedicate their lives honestly to fulfilling those dreams.&#8221;</p>

<p>During his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became emotional. PM Modi said, &#8220;Today, being here, it&#8217;s natural for many old memories to come back. When the country was fighting against Indira Gandhi&#8217;s authoritarianism, many people like me, who were part of the underground movement, Ashok Vihar used to be the place to stay for those involved in the movement.&#8221;</p>

<p>Tragedy struck New Orleans, United States of America, in the early hours of 1 January. At approximately 3:15 am, a 42-year-old man, driving at high speed, ploughed his truck into a New Year&#8217;s celebration on Bourbon Street. He then opened fire on the revelers, causing widespread panic and a desperate scramble for safety. The attack resulted in 15 fatalities and over 30 injuries. The assailant was subsequently shot and killed by police. He was later identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old former US military serviceman.</p>

<p>The investigation into the New Orleans attack uncovered an ISIS flag in Jabbar&#8217;s truck. Furthermore, pre-attack social media posts revealed Jabbar&#8217;s self-professed admiration for the Islamic State and his intention to commit mass violence. Consequently, the FBI launched a terrorism investigation, confirming Jabbar&#8217;s affiliation with ISIS.</p>

<p><strong>Khel Ratna Award for 2024:</strong> 2024 was a special year for India in terms of sports. The country performed brilliantly in the Olympic and Paralympic events and achieved historic feats in cricket, chess, and several other sports. <p>The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs announced the National Sports Awards 2024 on Thursday. The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a special ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 17 January 2025 at 11 am. Besides Manu Bhaker and Gukesh, Harmanpreet Singh, captain of the Indian men&#8217;s hockey team, who won a bronze medal at the Olympics, and para-athlete Praveen Kumar will be awarded the Khel Ratna. Manu not only hoisted the Indian flag in the individual event at the Olympic Games 2024 but also won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. This double success at the Paris Olympics has taken her to new heights of success.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gukesh Crowned Chess Champion</h2>



<p>Chess player D Gukesh will also be awarded the Khel Ratna Award. Gukesh achieved the honour of becoming the youngest world chess champion on 12 December last month. <p><strong>Important Update on CUET PG 2025:</strong> The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the application process for the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG 2025). Students seeking admission to postgraduate courses in central universities and other participating institutions can apply online through the NTA&#8217;s official website: <a href="exam.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exam.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/</a>. The last date for application submission is 2 February 2025. Following the application process, NTA will provide an opportunity to correct application forms from 3 February to 5 February 2025.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CUET PG Exam 2025: Increase in Application Fee</h2>



<p>The application fee for CUET PG 2025 has been increased compared to last year. The fee for up to two test papers has been raised by ₹200 for all categories. For the General category, the fee for two test papers is ₹1400, with an additional ₹700 per paper for extra tests. For OBC/NCL and EWS categories, the fee for two test papers is ₹1200, with an additional ₹600 per paper for extra tests. SC/ST/Third Gender candidates will pay ₹1100 for two test papers and ₹600 per additional paper.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CUET PG 2025: Exam Dates</h2>



<p>The CUET PG Exam 2025 will be held in March 2025, from 13 to 31 March 2025, across 312 cities nationwide. For the past three years, this exam has been used for admissions to central, state, private, and recognised universities. The film, titled &#8216;Azaad&#8217;, will be released on 17 January 2025. Raveena Tandon&#8217;s daughter, Rasha Thadani, will also be making her Bollywood debut with this film. Diana Penty will also be seen in the film.</p>

<p><strong>Jaipur:</strong> Amidst a severe cold wave and fog, the District Collector of Jaipur has announced a holiday for children aged 3-6 years registered for pre-school education activities at urban and rural Anganwadi centres in Jaipur district until 11 January. This will provide relief from the cold to over 5,000 children enrolled in Anganwadi centres under the Chaumu and Govindgarh Women and Child Development Projects.</p>



<p>According to reports, while government schools had declared a winter break from 25 December to 5 January due to the December 2024 cold wave and fog, Anganwadi centres remained operational. This caused discontent among parents who were reluctant to send their children to the centres in the cold weather.</p>



<p>Following news reports published in <i>Rajasthan Patrika</i> Kotputli on 31 December, titled &#8220;Toddlers Forced to Shiver at Anganwadi Centres,&#8221; and in <i>Rajasthan Patrika</i> Bassi, also on 31 December, titled &#8220;Winter Break in Government Schools, Children Shivering in Anganwadi Centres,&#8221; the Jaipur District Collector acted swiftly and declared a holiday until 11 January, providing relief to the young children.</p>



<p>Officials stated that while the winter break was not initially granted due to the supplementary nutrition programme, the intensifying cold wave prompted the decision. During the recent severe cold spell, Anganwadi centres operated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">399 Centres Operational in Chaumu Sub-division</h2>



<p>In the Chaumu sub-division, approximately 399 Anganwadi centres are operational, with around 5,000 children enrolled. Out of the 101 Anganwadi centres under the Chaumu Child Development Project, more than 40, and out of the 213 centres under the Govindgarh project, 20 operate from rented buildings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Supplementary Nutrition to be Provided as Take-Home Ration</h2>



<p>Sources revealed that with the holiday declared, the hot supplementary nutrition provided to children aged 3-6 years at Anganwadi centres will now be given as take-home rations. Other services such as immunisation, maternal-child health, and nutrition days will continue as usual. Anganwadi workers will maintain their presence at the centres during the stipulated time.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Minimum Temperature at 8 Degrees Celsius</h2>



<p>On Thursday, the minimum temperature in the Chaumu area was 8 degrees Celsius, and the maximum was 24 degrees Celsius. The weather has remained cold for over a week, with a cold wave and biting chill. Thursday saw fog in the morning, followed by sunshine, providing relief.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lack of Cold Weather Protection Measures</h2>



<p>Most Anganwadi centres in the Chaumu sub-division operate from rented buildings. There are inadequate seating arrangements and no furniture or cold weather protection measures. Children have to sit on the ground during the cold weather. However, the holiday announcement has brought relief to the children and their parents.</p>
