A case of the death of a medical student has come to light in the capital. The family has accused four youths of poisoning her to death. Banipark police are investigating the matter. The family says that Siya called her mother Rajkumari for help, but she died before reaching the hospital. Doctors said that Siya&#8217;s eyes, nails, and lips had turned blue, indicating death by poisoning. Rajkumari filed a murder case on October 21 at Banipark police station, in which four people have been accused.



The victim&#8217;s mother, Rajkumari, says that her daughter was given poison in the institute&#8217;s canteen. It is alleged that the girl&#8217;s female friend and some boys hatched a conspiracy to kill her. Siya had gone to study on April 30 and called her mother in the evening. She was found in a serious condition at the metro station and was admitted to Satellite Hospital.



The deceased&#8217;s friend informed the police that Siya was having an affair with a boy. The police said that in the CCTV footage, Siya is seen with her friends. The report alleges that Siya was poisoned and made to sit in the metro, which worsened her condition.



The police have registered a murder case and started the investigation. SHO Mahesh Sharma said that initially, a case of unnatural death was registered, but now a case has been registered on the court&#8217;s order. The police are investigating the matter.

A YouTuber couple has been accused of blackmailing a Pandit (priest). This case is from Khátima, Uttarakhand. A resident of Ward 14 filed a complaint with the police, stating that he was a retired educational department employee who now performs puja-paath (worship) services. He alleged that Babita Agarwal, alias Vidhi, and her husband Vaibhav Agarwal, residents of Shiv Colony, invited him to their home for puja-paath. During this time, Babita gave him milk to drink, which was laced with a sedative. After drinking the milk, the priest became unconscious. The couple then stripped him naked and made a video of him. They threatened to upload the video on YouTube and demanded 2.57 lakh rupees from him.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Aadhaar-linked DBT provides cash benefits to beneficiaries</h2>



Through the Aadhaar-linked DBT, cash benefits are directly transferred to the bank accounts of beneficiaries under various welfare schemes. This facility eliminates the need for documents and also prevents problems like fake beneficiaries. The world&#8217;s largest DBT scheme, the PM-Kisan scheme, has already transferred more than Rs 3.04 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmers across the country. With the 18th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme, the total amount transferred has crossed Rs 3.24 lakh crore.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PMJDY boosts financial inclusion</h2>



Moreover, the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) promotes financial inclusion, under which more than 523 million bank accounts have been opened, bringing the marginalized sections into the formal financial system. According to the government, this Aadhaar-based approach has not only empowered people but also resulted in significant savings for the country&#8217;s treasury by removing crores of fake, non-existent, and ineligible beneficiaries from government schemes. For instance, due to Aadhaar-based DBT, more than 4.15 crore fake LPG connections and 5.03 crore duplicate ration cards have been eliminated, ensuring the smooth distribution of essential services like cooking gas and food subsidies.

The government is going to create a venture capital fund of Rs 1,000 crore to promote startups in the space sector. This fund will be spent over the next five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a cabinet meeting on Thursday, where this decision was taken. During the meeting, the Economic Affairs Committee (CCEA) also approved two rail projects worth Rs 6,798 crore. These projects will increase the railway network by about 313 km. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Bihar will benefit from these projects. Additionally, a new railway line will be laid from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi in Bihar.



Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said after the meeting that the venture capital fund will be spent in the following manner: Rs 150 crore in 2025-26, Rs 250 crore each in 2026-27, 2027-28, and Rs 100 crore in 2029-30. This will likely help around 40 startups. Vaishnav also said that the doubling of the railway line from Narakatiaj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga and Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur will be done, which will increase connectivity in Bihar and improve the transportation of goods trains and passenger trains.



Also, a new railway line of 57 km will be laid from Amaravati to Errupalem and Namburu, which will pass through Andhra Pradesh&#8217;s NTR Vijayawada and Guntur districts, as well as Telangana&#8217;s Khammam district. This will increase connectivity in Bihar and improve the transportation of goods trains and passenger trains.



The government has also decided to run 7,000 special trains during the Diwali and Chhath festivals. This will provide relief to about two lakh passengers daily. Northern Railway had earlier announced the operation of 3,050 special trains. Most of these trains will run in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and northeastern states.



Another railway project has been approved, which includes the construction of a 3.2 km long railway bridge over the Krishna River. This will connect Amaravati to Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Nagpur.
