Mumbai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that the people of Maharashtra have given Mahayuti an &#8220;unprecedented victory&#8221; and there &#8220;will be no dispute on CM face&#8221;.



&#8220;The people of Maharashtra have given us an unprecedented victory. This shows that people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In line with the slogan he gave &#8216;ek hain toh safe hain&#8217;, people from all sections and communities voted for us unitedly,&#8221; Fadnavis told reporters here.



&#8220;This is the victory of Mahayuti, CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Ramdas Athawale, this is the victory of unity,&#8221; he added.



Answering a query, he said it had been decided that leaders of three parties would sit together and decide on the chief minister.



&#8220;There will be no dispute on the CM&#8217;s face. It was decided from day one that after the elections, the leaders of the three parties would sit together and decide on this. The decision will be acceptable to everyone, there is no dispute on this,&#8221; he said.



Chief Minister Eknath Shinde thanked the BJP central leadership for their support in the Maharashtra campaign.



&#8220;I thank all the workers of Mahayuti. PM Modi, Amit Shah bhai, Nadda ji &#8211; all supported us. They gave priority to Maharashtra. I am proud that I have been proven right about what I had said that we will win 200 seats. We (Mahayuti) fought like a team,&#8221; Shinde said.



Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, as the Mahayuti is on course to a landslide victory in the assembly elections.



Mahayuti has won or is ahead in 224 of 288 seats in the Maharashtra assembly. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi has won or is leading on 54 seats.

Mumbai (Maharashtra): With the Mahayuti alliance inching closer to a huge victory and all set to form the government in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde thanked the BJP high command for their support in prioritising Maharashtra.



Speaking about the alliance&#8217;s success, Shinde said, &#8220;I thank all the workers of Mahayuti. PM Modi, Amit Shah bhai, Nadda ji &#8211; all supported us. They gave priority to Maharashtra. I am proud that I have been proven right about what I had said that we will win 200 seats. We (Mahayuti) fought like a team…&#8221;



Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, as the Mahayuti alliance approached a landslide victory in the 2024 Assembly elections.



Earlier, CM Shinde stated that the alliance would collectively decide on the Chief Minister&#8217;s face once the final results are declared. &#8220;Let the final results come in… Then, in the same way as we fought elections together, all three parties will sit together and take a decision (on who will be the CM),&#8221; he said.



Celebrations erupted at Shinde&#8217;s residence in Thane, where Shiv Sena workers cheered, and bouquets arrived. His son, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, celebrated with fellow party members. &#8220;As we had expected, we have got very good numbers. I thank all the voters who stood behind Mahayuti and gave this landslide victory,&#8221; Shrikant said.



BJP leader Vikas Pathak said, &#8220;We were expecting over 160 seats for Mahayuti, and that is exactly how it&#8217;s shaping up. The lead could increase further. This year has been significant for BJP. On its strength, the BJP is crossing 100 seats, and a Mahayuti Chief Minister is set to take office.&#8221;



Pathak noted the enthusiasm among workers but emphasised that final celebrations would begin after results were confirmed.



Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar celebrated in Baramati, leading by over 15,000 votes. At Devagiri, NCP leaders, including Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare, joined supporters to mark the victory.



Congress leader Supriya Shrinate admitted, &#8220;Maharashtra election results are opposite to our (Congress&#8217;) expectations. There is no doubt we could have done better.&#8221;



Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut dismissed the results, claiming, &#8220;This cannot be the decision of the people of Maharashtra.&#8221;



BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticised the opposition for &#8220;making excuses&#8221; and praised PM Modi&#8217;s leadership, stating that Maharashtra would have a government with a huge majority.



All eyes are now on who will assume the Chief Minister&#8217;s position.

Ranchi (Jharkhand): The JMM-led Mahagathbandhan has crossed the halfway mark as the alliance leads on 50 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly election, as of 10:40 a.m., according to the Election Commission of India.



Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is leading on 30 seats, Congress on 14 seats, RJD on 5 seats, and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) &#8211; CPI(ML)(L) on one seat.



As per the trends, the BJP-led NDA has taken the lead on 28 seats, with BJP leading on 24 seats, AJSU on 2 seats, and JD(U) and LJP(RV) each leading on one seat.



It is to be noted that Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM), a party contesting elections for the first time, is leading on two seats &#8211; Jugsalai and Dumri &#8211; while an independent candidate is also leading on the Panki seat.



Counting began at 8 a.m. on Saturday for the 2024 Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly Elections, along with bypoll results from 15 states. The counting will decide the fate of the 288 seats in Maharashtra and 81 in Jharkhand.



As the counting is underway, Congress leader Rajesh Thakur said that trends are coming out well and the margin may increase.



Speaking to ANI, he said, &#8220;The trends will change in the results. The trends are coming out well, and the margins seem to be increasing continuously. Whether it is a matter of waiving the loans of farmers or providing free electricity for 200 units, the reward will now be visible in the result. BJP has tried again and again to do such politics. When necessary, they tried to loot the government&#8217;s majority by sending the Chief Minister to jail. We have worked to eliminate all the efforts made by the BJP. Even if someone tries like this in the future, they will not be spared.&#8221;



In Jharkhand, the first phase of polling took place on November 13, covering 43 of the 81 assembly seats. The contest is between the JMM-led alliance, comprising Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML), and the BJP-led NDA alliance, which includes AJSU, JD(U), and LJP. Exit polls had predicted that the NDA could win between 42-47 seats, while the JMM-led alliance is expected to secure 25-30 seats.



Voter turnout in Jharkhand was reported at over 68.45 per cent on election day, surpassing the 2019 election turnout of 65 per cent. In the 2019 elections, the JMM won 30 seats, BJP 25, and Congress 16 seats. The results for all 81 constituencies in Jharkhand, along with the Maharashtra and bypoll results, will be declared today.

New Delhi [India], 23 November (ANI): Residents of the national capital, New Delhi, woke up on Saturday to a thick layer of smog and foggy weather as the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city fell back into the &#8216;severe&#8217; category.



The AQI measured in Delhi at 8 a.m. was 420, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).



In Anand Vihar, the AQI was recorded as 457; in Ashok Vihar, it was 455; in Chandni Chowk, it was 439; and in RK Puram, it stood at 421—all in the &#8216;severe&#8217; category, as per CPCB data measured at 8 a.m.



An AQI between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate, 201-300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor, and 401-500 is severe. Anything above this is classified as &#8216;severe plus&#8217;.



Meanwhile, the movement of trains was delayed due to visibility issues.



The Shaabi Express (Kanpur to New Delhi) was delayed by 39 minutes, the Jansadharan Express (Anand Vihar Terminal to Danapur) was delayed by 661 minutes, the Hazrat Nizamuddin Humsafar Express was delayed by 110 minutes, and the Runicha Express (Old Delhi to Jaisalmer) was delayed by 24 minutes.



On 22 November, the AQI in the national capital was recorded as 371, remaining in the &#8216;very poor&#8217; category, as per the CPCB.



Earlier the same day, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai inspected the Narela-Singhu border to monitor the implementation of stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). This stage enforces a ban on Delhi-registered BS-IV and below diesel-operated medium goods vehicles (MGVs) and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), except those used for essential services.



Speaking to media representatives, Gopal Rai emphasised the AAP government&#8217;s efforts to combat air pollution in the city.



&#8220;The AAP government is continuously working to mitigate pollution levels in Delhi. Entry has been banned for vehicles that cause pollution, as GRAP 4 is implemented. Today, we received several complaints that vehicles are being allowed to enter Delhi without proper checks; hence, I am here to inspect the same,&#8221; Gopal Rai said.



Delhi has been grappling with severe air quality and thick smog for the past few weeks.

ICC calls emergency meeting for Champions Trophy 2025, tough decision expected

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has called an emergency meeting of its board on November 26 to discuss the 2025 Champions Trophy. ESPN Cricinfo has learned that the sole agenda of the meeting is to decide whether to adopt a hybrid model for the tournament, which would involve hosting it in Pakistan and another country.



The tournament is likely to start in less than 100 days. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to host it from February 19 to March 9, but the ICC has not yet released the schedule. However, a major hurdle has arisen.



The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the ICC that the Indian government has not granted permission for Rohit Sharma&#8217;s team to travel to Pakistan. Pakistan was awarded the hosting rights for the eight-team ODI tournament in November 2021 and is adamant about hosting the entire tournament in three venues &#8211; Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.



PCB chairman Mohsin Nakvi said in an interview with the media in Pakistan this week that he has &#8220;positive expectations&#8221; about the Champions Trophy being held in Pakistan. Nakvi, who is also the head of Pakistan&#8217;s interior ministry, said he is ready to engage in dialogue with the BCCI to resolve the impasse. The PCB is waiting for a response from the ICC on why India has not been granted permission to travel to Pakistan.



This is the second consecutive year that Pakistan has faced the issue of hosting a tournament in a hybrid model due to India&#8217;s reluctance. Last year, India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, which was eventually held in a hybrid model in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.



Immediately after that, Pakistan had to travel to India for the ODI World Cup, and the PCB has recently said that it made the decision to ensure that it has a strong case for hosting the Champions Trophy solely in Pakistan. Earlier this week, India had to withdraw its name from the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup as the Indian team did not get permission from the government to travel to Pakistan.

India vs Australia, 1st Test: On the second day of the first Test match being played at the Perth Cricket Stadium, Australia were bowled out for just 104 runs. The Kangaroos had performed brilliantly on the first day, bowling out India for 150 runs. But in response, Team India retaliated like wounded lions and captain Jasprit Bumrah&#8217;s devastating bowling sent the Australian batsmen scattering like cards. With this, India has achieved a big record.



This is Australia&#8217;s lowest score in the first innings against India in the history of Test cricket. Previously, in 1947, Australia was bowled out for 107 runs in the first innings by India.

Australia started the day at seven wickets for 67 runs. Australia lost two wickets quickly, and their score fell to nine wickets for 79 runs. Bumrah sent Alex Carey back to the pavilion, caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Carey scored 21 runs. This was Bumrah&#8217;s fifth wicket.



Harshit Rana took the ninth wicket of Australia. But after that, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood shared a 25-run partnership for the last wicket, taking the host team&#8217;s score past 100. Rana then got Starc caught by Pant, ending Australia&#8217;s innings at 104 runs. Starc scored a useful 26 runs, the highest score for his team. Hazlewood remained unbeaten on seven runs. Washington [US]: The United States on Friday rejected the International Criminal Court&#8217;s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, who are accused of &#8220;crimes against humanity and war crimes.&#8221;



White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed concern over the decision in a press briefing, stating, &#8220;We fundamentally reject the court&#8217;s decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials.&#8221; She criticised the prosecutor&#8217;s haste in seeking the warrants and pointed out troubling process errors that led to this outcome.



Jean-Pierre also added that the United States has been clear about the ICC&#8217;s lack of jurisdiction over this matter. &#8220;Whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no evidence, none between Israel and Hamas, there&#8217;s just none,&#8221; she said. The White House is working closely with its partners, including Israel, to discuss the next steps. Jean-Pierre reaffirmed, &#8220;We fundamentally reject that the ICC has jurisdiction over the situation, and so that&#8217;s something that we&#8217;ve been pretty clear about and we&#8217;ll continue to.&#8221;



This statement comes as the US continues to show support for Israel amid the ICC&#8217;s charges against its leaders.



Meanwhile, the ICC in The Hague on Thursday issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, accusing them of &#8220;crimes against humanity and war crimes.&#8221; The charges include allegations of targeting civilians and enforcing policies of starvation in Gaza.



Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned the ICC&#8217;s decision in a statement on his social media platform, calling it &#8220;antisemitic&#8221; and comparing it to the infamous Dreyfus trial. In a video posted on his X handle, Netanyahu said, &#8220;The antisemitic decision of the international court in The Hague is a modern Dreyfus trial, and it will end the same way.&#8221;



Netanyahu drew parallels between his situation and the false treason charges against French Jewish officer Alfred Dreyfus over 130 years ago. Referring to Emile Zola&#8217;s famous essay J&#8217;accuse, which defended Dreyfus, Netanyahu said, &#8220;Now an international court in The Hague, also headed by a French judge, is repeating this outrageous offence. It is falsely accusing me and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant of deliberately targeting civilians.&#8221;



He defended Israel&#8217;s military actions in Gaza, claiming that the measures implemented were necessary to minimise civilian casualties. &#8220;We issue millions of text messages, phone calls, and leaflets to warn the citizens of Gaza to get out of harm&#8217;s way, while Hamas terrorists do everything in their power to keep them in harm&#8217;s way, including using them as human shields,&#8221; Netanyahu said.



Netanyahu dismissed accusations of imposing a starvation policy, highlighting that Israel had supplied 700,000 tons of food to Gaza. He stated, &#8220;We&#8217;ve supplied Gaza with 700,000 tons of food to feed the people of Gaza. That&#8217;s 3,200 calories for every man, woman, and child in Gaza. And these supplies are routinely looted by Hamas terrorists, who deprive their people of much-needed food.&#8221; He also noted that Israel had facilitated the vaccination of 97 percent of Gaza&#8217;s population against polio. Netanyahu called the ICC&#8217;s charges baseless, asking, &#8220;What in God&#8217;s name are they talking about in The Hague?&#8221;



The Israeli Prime Minister further criticised the ICC for focusing on Israel while ignoring war crimes in countries like Iran, Syria, and Yemen. He also denounced the court for its failure to act against Hamas, describing their atrocities during the recent Gaza conflict. &#8220;No biassed anti-Israel decision in The Hague will prevent the State of Israel from defending its citizens,&#8221; Netanyahu asserted.



He thanked allies, particularly the United States, for condemning the ICC&#8217;s move and reiterated that Israel does not recognize the court&#8217;s jurisdiction. The Israeli PM said, &#8220;We will continue to do everything we must to defend our citizens and defend our state against Iran&#8217;s Axis of terror, which includes Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and others.&#8221;



&#8220;Our enemies are your enemies, and our victory will be your victory&#8211;the victory of civilization over barbarism and tyranny,&#8221; Netanyahu added.

Jhunjhunu News: A big news has come to light due to the negligence of Jhunjhunu&#8217;s Rajkiya Bhagwan Das Khaitan Hospital. A person who was declared dead in the hospital and a post-mortem was conducted, has finally lost the battle of life. This incident has created a stir in the entire health department. Meanwhile, three doctors have been suspended due to this negligence.



On Thursday, Rohitash was admitted to Jhunjhunu&#8217;s BDK Hospital, after which the doctors declared him dead and even prepared a post-mortem report. Fortunately, before the pyre was lit, the youth&#8217;s breathing started again, but later his condition deteriorated again at night.



After this, the youth was referred from Jhunjhunu&#8217;s BDK Hospital to Jaipur&#8217;s SMS Hospital, but Rohitash died before reaching SMS Hospital. The hospital superintendent Dr. Sushil Bhati has confirmed Rohitash&#8217;s death. He said that Rohitash&#8217;s body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem.



Rohitash was brought to Jhunjhunu&#8217;s Bhagwan Das Khaitan Hospital in an unconscious state, where doctors declared him dead and handed over the body to his family members. But just before the last rites, Rohitash&#8217;s breathing started again and he started moving on the pyre. After this, the family members brought Rohitash back to BDK Hospital. Later, he was referred to Jaipur, but he lost the battle of life on the way.



Meanwhile, after the negligence came to light, a committee was formed under the direction of District Collector Ramavtar Meena, and on the recommendation of the committee, the Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Nisha Meena, suspended BDK Hospital&#8217;s PMO Dr. Sandeep Pachar, Dr. Yogesh Kumar Jakhar, and Dr. Navneet Meel.

Jodhpur, Jodhpur Rural, and Phalodi districts’ 5 lakh families will now receive domestic LPG cylinders for just Rs 450 under the LPG subsidy scheme. For this, around 1,300 ration shops in the districts are carrying out LPG seeding. So far, 20% of the seeding has been completed. The final date for seeding is 30th November.



Under the Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, women from needy families are being supported through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the BPL category. These families have already been receiving LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 450. In Jodhpur, there are 5 lakh families, of which approximately 1.5 lakh were already benefiting from this scheme. As part of the 2024-25 budget announcement by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the scheme&#8217;s scope has been expanded to include all families receiving ration wheat, i.e., all NFSA beneficiaries, who will now be eligible to receive LPG cylinders at Rs 450.



The state government has provided new POS (Point of Sale) machines to all 27,000 ration dealers in the state. The machine is quite updated, but the new machine is facing signal problems. Due to frequent network outages, there are problems in LPG seeding. Without LPG seeding, wheat distribution will not be possible this month. As a result, people are also facing a lot of trouble at ration shops. Ration dealers say that after the signal goes off on the POS machine, the network does not come for two hours, due to which the ration seekers get tired and return home.

Udaipur: One wrong move at midnight, five friends dead in crash

Udaipur News: A severe road accident occurred in Udaipur district late at night. Five people died in the accident. All the deceased were young, between 20 and 25 years old. The accident took place in the Sukher police station area. According to the information, on Thursday night, a car coming from Delwara, Rajsamand, was going on the wrong side of the road towards Debari from Amba. During this time, it had a severe collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction.



The intensity of the accident can be gauged from the fact that the car was destroyed, and all the young men inside died on the spot. The son of a head constable is also among the deceased. The police have seized the truck and started investigating the matter.



The police have cited the car’s wrong-side driving as the main cause of the accident, with the steep road and night-time conditions possibly contributing. Investigations are ongoing to determine why the driver was speeding and on the wrong side. The car was destroyed. The victims have been identified as Himmat Khateek (Delwara, Rajsamand), Pankaj Nagarchi (Bedla), Gopal Nagarchi (Kharol Colony), and Gaurav Jeenagar (Siyasar). The identity of another young man remains unknown.



This accident has caused a wave of mourning in the entire area. The families of the deceased are in a state of shock. The police have sent the bodies of all the deceased for post-mortem to the hospital.
