Earlier, Australia’s team, batting first, was all out for 140 runs in 31.5 overs. Sean Abbott (30) was the top scorer for the losing team. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah took three wickets each, while Haris Rauf took two.
Rizwan said in the post-match presentation, “This is a special moment for me. The whole country will be very happy today. We have not been able to perform as per expectations in recent years. I am just a captain for the toss and presentation. Everyone gives me suggestions on the field, batting, and bowling.”
The wicketkeeper-batsman said, “All the credit goes to the bowlers, it’s not easy to play against Australia in Australia, but the bowlers performed exceptionally well. Along with this, credit also goes to the two openers who made chasing the target easy. They (fans) don’t care much about the results, but people back home are always with us, and I want to dedicate this win to them.”
Two days ago, on his 31st birthday, Harris took 10 wickets in the series, including a five-wicket haul in the second ODI, and was awarded the Player of the Match and Series.
