The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team conducted raids today on the Bhilai residence of Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with premises belonging to his close associates and Lakshmi Narayan Bansal, also known as Pappu Bansal. While security personnel are deployed outside Bhupesh Baghel&#8217;s house, Congress workers are staging a protest.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ED Raid: Machine Brought to Count Notes</h2>



Meanwhile, the ED team has brought in a machine to count the money. The bulky machine has been taken inside the bungalow and Bhilai residence. This suggests that the investigation is nearing completion. It will be known shortly what the ED team found at Bhupesh Baghel&#8217;s house.



It has emerged during the investigation that Chaitanya Baghel is also among the beneficiaries of the illegal money generated from the liquor scam. The outcome of the ED team&#8217;s actions will be known shortly. Meanwhile, the political scene in the state is abuzz with statements regarding this action.

Commenting on the ED raid, Chhattisgarh Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan said, “I think our former Chief Minister has been harassed for a long time. I would only say that we are not among those who are afraid… Politics is not about intimidation. The ED has to do its job. We believe in the law, respect it, and the law will take its course.”

Maharashtra accident: Truck loaded with sugarcane overturns in Sambhajinagar, 6 killed, 17 trapped!

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Accident: News of a horrific road accident has emerged from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in Maharashtra. Early Monday morning, a sugarcane-laden truck overturned in the Pishor Ghat area of the district, trapping 17 labourers underneath. Six labourers died in this tragic accident, while 11 others sustained injuries.



According to reports, the sugarcane-laden truck was travelling from Kannad to Pishor. The accident occurred around 1 am in the Ghat area while the labourers were travelling in the truck. Upon receiving information about the accident, a police team arrived at the scene and initiated rescue and relief operations.



According to the information received, 17 labourers were sitting on the sugarcane-laden truck. The truck, laden with sugarcane, was passing through the Kannad-Pishor Ghat area when the driver lost control, causing the truck to overturn. This resulted in the labourers being crushed under the weight of the sugarcane. Because the incident occurred after midnight, immediate help could not be provided. However, local people tried to rescue the labourers. All the labourers were extricated from under the sugarcane with great difficulty, but six labourers could not be saved. The injured were immediately admitted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Investigate</h2>



The police have identified the labourers who lost their lives in the accident. The deceased include Kisan Dhanu Rathod, Manoj Namdev Chavan, Vinod Namdev Chavan, Mithun Maharu Chavan, Krishna Mulchand Rathod and Gyaneshwar Devidas Chavan. The police are now investigating whether the accident was due to driver negligence or if there is another cause behind the accident.

Gujarat scorches: Bhuj at 42°C, 11 cities cross 40°C mark

A heatwave has gripped Gujarat for the past few days. On Monday, the mercury soared past 40 degrees Celsius in 11 cities across the state. Bhuj in Kutch recorded the highest temperature at 42 degrees Celsius. Surat was the second hottest city on Monday, with a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius. The scorching heat is expected to continue for the next three days.



The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for several parts of the state for the next three days, issuing a yellow alert. 



The rising temperatures in Gujarat are intensifying the heat. On Sunday, Ahmedabad recorded a temperature of approximately 38.7 degrees, which rose to 40.4 degrees on Monday, exceeding 40 degrees. Most cities in the state recorded temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or higher on Monday.



In Ahmedabad, the rising heat has led to increased use of fans, air conditioners, and coolers, along with a surge in demand for cold beverages. 



According to the Meteorological Department, hot winds are likely to cause discomfort in Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Kutch on Tuesday and Wednesday. 



Furthermore, the effect of the heatwave may persist in Banaskantha, Surendranagar, Rajkot, and Kutch in North Gujarat on Thursday. Guidance is being provided to people on how to protect themselves from the heat. A decrease in the intensity of the heatwave is expected after these three days.

Katni/Umriapan. A tragic incident occurred on Sunday in Parsawara village, Umriapan police station area, Katni district, where four girls drowned in the Narmada canal while bathing. Two girls died in the accident, one was rescued, and the third girl was no traceable. Police and Home Guard teams are engaged in the search operation.



According to reports, around 11 am on Sunday, four girls from Parsawara village went to bathe at the step-like ghat of the Bargi Right Bank Narmada Canal. They were Sidhika, daughter of Kaushal Patel (12), Manvi, daughter of Kaushal Patel (8), Anshika, daughter of Basant Patel (14), and Ananya, daughter of Ajay Patel (11). While bathing, all four girls slipped into deeper water and began to drown.



Woman Witnesses Accident, Elderly Man Rescues One Girl Seeing the girls drowning, a woman nearby alerted Deepchand Dahiya (64), who was working in a field. He immediately jumped into the canal and rescued Ananya (11). Ananya informed that her other sisters were still in the water. Upon receiving news of the incident, villagers arrived at the scene and began searching for the missing girls. After some effort, Anshika (14) and Sidhika (12) were pulled out. They were immediately taken to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead.



Police and Divers Search for Manvi The fourth girl, Manvi (8), is still missing. Villagers tried to find her, but without success. Thana In-charge Dinesh Tiwari informed senior officials, following which a Home Guard team arrived and launched a rescue operation. Despite five hours of effort, Manvi could not be found. A team of divers was then called in to assist in the rescue effort. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village. The girls&#8217; parents and relatives are deeply shocked. People are gathered near the canal hoping for Manvi&#8217;s safe return. In Parsawara village, Umriapan police station area, three girls drowned in the Bargi Right Bank Narmada Canal on Sunday; two died, and one is still missing. This incident has caused widespread mourning among the family and the entire village. The family is inconsolable. The police, Home Guard, and divers conducted a rescue operation for about six hours, but the missing girl has not yet been found. The rescue operation will resume on Monday.

After this, the villagers together pulled out Anshika and Sidhika, but upon reaching the hospital, the doctors declared them dead.

Rescue Team Arrives at 1 PM After receiving information about the incident, the rescue team arrived at 1 pm, but Manvi (8) could not be found. Thana In-charge Dinesh Tiwari stated that the police arrived at the scene immediately after the incident and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Condolences were offered to the families. The search for the missing girl will resume on Monday.



MLA Visits the Scene, Provides Financial Assistance Upon learning about the incident, the local MLA, Dhirendra Bahadur Singh, arrived at the scene. He instructed the canal authorities to drain the water as soon as possible. The MLA provided financial assistance to the affected families and assured them of government-level support. Anshika&#8217;s (Class 9) father, Basant Patel, works as a labourer in Sihora, while her mother, Uma Bai Patel, had gone to visit relatives in Panna district. Ananya (Class 6), who survived, is also in shock.



Grief in the Village Following this incident, the village is enveloped in grief. The entire village is mourning, and the families are inconsolable. Villagers have demanded that the administration take safety measures along the canal to prevent such incidents from recurring. Parents are also urged to exercise caution and not allow young children to go near rivers, ponds, or canals alone.

Body of Missing Girl Recovered After 20 Hours; Joint Funeral On Monday morning at 7 am, villagers found the missing girl&#8217;s body in the canal. After the father of the two girls returned from Pune, a somber funeral was held around 1:30 pm. The simultaneous cremation of the three girls shocked the entire village. After the post-mortem, the bodies of both girls were kept in a freezer at home overnight. Villagers remained near the scene throughout the night. Thana In-charge Dinesh Tiwari said that on Monday morning, with the help of villagers, Manvi Patel&#8217;s (8) body was recovered from the canal. The girl was found entangled in the weeds at the bottom of the canal. The canal water level had been lowered, which facilitated the recovery. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Actually, around 11 am on Sunday, two sisters, Sidhika Patel (12) and Manvi Patel (8), along with Anshika Patel (14) and Ananya Patel (11), went to bathe at the step-like ghat of the Narmada Canal. One by one, all four girls drowned. Villagers pulled out three girls. Ananya survived, while Anshika and Sidhika died. The police, along with the Home Guard and a diving team, conducted a six-hour rescue operation, but Manvi was not found on Sunday.



Two Brothers&#8217; Families Left Without Daughters Kaushal Patel, who returned from his job in Pune, had two daughters, Sidhika and Manvi, while his cousin, Basant Patel, also had a daughter, Anshika. After this horrific incident, both cousins&#8217; families are left without their daughters. On the second day of the incident, the family and relatives were inconsolable.

India's Champions Trophy 2025 Triumph: Prize Money and Awards Revealed

Indian Railways: Holi will be celebrated across India on 13 March. People living far from home wish to return for Holi, leading to large crowds at railway stations and on trains. As in previous years, Indian Railways has made special arrangements for Holi. In anticipation of the crowds, the Northern Railway has made changes to arrangements at several stations to ensure passenger convenience and ease of travel. To manage the festival crowds, the railway has altered entry gates at several stations and deployed RPF personnel at FOBs (Foot Over Bridges).



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New Systems Implemented at 60 Major Stations</h2>



Following a high-level meeting chaired by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to address increasing crowds at railway stations, new systems have been implemented at 60 major stations nationwide to improve passenger convenience and safety. This includes sealing all unauthorised entry points at these 60 stations and restricting platform access to passengers with confirmed tickets.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New Entry Rules at New Delhi Station</h2>



Himanshu Shekhar, CPRO of Northern Railway, stated that entry changes have been made at several stations in view of the Holi crowds. He explained that modifications have been made at the Ajmeri Gate site to ensure passenger convenience during the festival.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Entry Points</h2>



Entry to platforms 1-15 is via FOB3 (Gate 8), FOB2 (Gate No. unspecified), and FOB1. Entry to platforms 1-15 will no longer be permitted via Gate 10 (Platform 16). Reserved passengers for Platform 16 must use Gate 10, while unreserved passengers must use Gate 12.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Six Stations Get Mini Control Rooms</h2>



Special arrangements have been made for passengers at stations during Holi. The Delhi division has established mini control rooms at six stations: New Delhi, Delhi, Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and Panipat. These rooms will house existing equipment for monitoring train operations and crowd control, and will coordinate with the main control room. Special Duty Officers (SDOs) have also been deployed.

Indian Railways has made special arrangements for Holi. Changes have been made to arrangements at some stations to ensure passengers face no inconvenience and can travel comfortably by train.

Cryptocurrency: The central government is preparing to take strict action against illegal cryptocurrency transactions. Investigative agencies have been instructed to conduct forensic analysis of suspicious crypto transactions. All data and inputs should be immediately shared with relevant law enforcement agencies to prevent such cases.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Increase in Crypto Transactions</h2>



Forensic analysis has revealed a significant increase in wallet and crypto transactions since the crackdown on illegal financial activities such as money laundering, fraud, and ransomware payments. Cases of crypto-related crime have also increased by 45 per cent. By 2023, losses from crypto crime reached $5.6 billion.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Use of a Single Cryptocurrency Investment Platform</h2>



According to the Ministry of Home Affairs data, there has been a significant increase in crypto-related forensic cases between 2020 and 2024. In 2020, only 11 cases were presented for forensic analysis, while in 2024, the number of cases related to forensic investigation and analysis increased to 291.



An official stated that in some cases, it was observed that criminals used the same cryptocurrency investment platform, and the data obtained during the analysis brought them under the scrutiny of law enforcement officials.

Furthermore, users do not need to physically carry currency or exchange currency in a physical form. Examples of cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple. Bitcoin is the most famous cryptocurrency, followed by Ethereum.
