जिला स्तरीय मुख्य कार्यक्रम पुलिस परेड ग्राउण्ड पर  कलेक्टर शीलेन्द्र सिंह ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया और परेड की सलामी ली।

मुख्य समारोह में साथ शैक्षणिक संस्थाओं/स्कूलों के विद्यार्थियों ने मनोहारी वेशभूषा में रंगारंग सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियां दी।

समारोह में प्रस्तुत सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में सराहनीय प्रदर्शन करने पर विद्याभूमि पब्लिक स्कूल के विद्यार्थियों को प्रथम, शासकीय कन्या शिक्षा परिसर की छात्राओं को द्वितीय, भारत भारती विद्यालय के विद्यार्थियों को तृतीय पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। 

जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं और विभागीय कार्यक्रमों की झांकियों का आकर्षक प्रदर्शन किया। 


नाथ उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय छिंदवाड़ा के विद्यार्थियों ने मार्शल आर्ट कराते का प्रदर्शन कर आत्मरक्षा की तकनीकें प्रदर्शित की। 

वन विभाग की झांकी में वनोपज का प्रदर्शन किया गया। 

कार्यक्रम के बाद सांसद, कलेक्टर, एसपी एवं अन्य ने विद्यार्थियों के साथ सुस्वादु पौष्टिक भोजन खीर-पूरी का स्वाद चखा।

छिंदवाड़ा के कलाकारों की प्रस्तुति सर्वाधिक आकर्षण का केंद्र रही।

<p><strong>Delhi Assembly Elections:</strong> Launching his election campaign for the upcoming Delhi elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed confidence in his party&#8217;s victory, stating that on February 5th, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will go, and the Bharatiya Janata Party will take over. He said, &#8220;The entire Delhi is saying, on February 5th, &#8216;AAP-da&#8217; will go, and BJP will come.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘AAP-da’s Lies Won’t Work Anymore: Modi</h2>



<p>Addressing a public rally in the Ghondha Assembly constituency, PM Modi targeted the ruling AAP in Delhi, stating that the area&#8217;s residents want a government that will free them from tanker mafias and provide them with tap water. He said, &#8220;The scene here reflects Delhi&#8217;s mood; it reflects the mandate of the people of Delhi. Delhi is saying that there will be no more excuses, false promises, loot, and the lies of ‘AAP-da’ will not work anymore. I congratulate the Delhi BJP. They have presented a tremendous manifesto. It promises schemes for everyone in Delhi, including women, youth, the middle class, auto drivers, shopkeepers, and slum dwellers.&#8221;</p>



<p>The BJP government, to be formed after February 8th, will fulfill all its promises within a definite timeframe. This is Modi&#8217;s guarantee. Commenting on Delhi&#8217;s condition, PM Modi targeted AAP, stating that crores of citizens in the country are working towards a developed India. But Delhi does not look like the developed capital of the country. There is a need for the capital of a developed India to become a model developed city. Looking at Delhi&#8217;s deterioration, can you say that Delhi is the capital of a modern state? Does it look like a capital? I don&#8217;t need anyone to answer. Crores of citizens of Delhi always speak about their problems.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Give BJP a Chance: Modi</h2>



<p>Appealing to the people of Delhi to vote for the BJP, PM Modi sought a chance to work for their welfare and development. He said, &#8220;Give the lotus a chance too.&#8221; In his rally, the Prime Minister targeted AAP and Congress, stating that both parties ruled for 14 and 11 years respectively, but nothing changed here.</p>

Mahakumbh: Ambulance Driver Reports 17-18 Deaths, CM Yogi Warns Against Rumors


<p><strong>Maha Kumbh:</strong> Reports suggest that 12 to 17 people died in a stampede at the Sangam ghat during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. However, the government has denied these reports. Hours after the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released a video message stating that some people were injured in the stampede, received appropriate treatment, and the situation is under control.</p>



<p>Earlier, about six hours after the stampede, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted that the bathing was proceeding peacefully and urged people to disregard rumours. Prior to this, an officer deployed in the mela area also stated that some people were injured due to a breach in the barricades, were receiving treatment, and that the situation was not serious. However, eyewitnesses and media reports contradict this, with accounts of fatalities, the sight of corpses, and widespread disorder. Many saints and ordinary citizens alike are alleging that the mela administration is focused solely on VIPs, neglecting the plight of ordinary people. Several akharas have cancelled their grand bathing ceremonies.</p>

<p>CM Yogi&#8217;s tweet did not specify the rumour nor clarify the officer&#8217;s statement. However, he mentioned the stampede in his video message.</p>



<p>Before Yogi&#8217;s tweet, Akanksha Rana , an officer deployed in the mela area, stated that a stampede-like situation arose due to a barrier-breaking, resulting in some injuries, but no serious consequences. </p>

<p>However, eyewitness accounts from devotees and media suggest fatalities. An ambulance driver, Avanish Kumar, told Patrika that 17-18 people died, stating he transported four bodies.</p>

<p>A devotee from Gonda told Patrika that his uncle died in the stampede. He recounted witnessing the jam, the lack of police or administrative presence, and the ensuing stampede where 60-70 people fell. He estimates 15-20 fatalities.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Home Minister Takes Stock</h2>



<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly contacted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday to inquire about the events at the Sangam during the Mauni Amavasya celebrations at the Maha Kumbh Mela. They assured CM Yogi of full central government support.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with CM Yogi to review the situation in Prayagraj and called for immediate assistance measures. CM Yogi mentioned in his video message that the Prime Minister had spoken to him four times since morning.</p>

<p><strong>Stampede at Mahakumbh:</strong> Following the death of 17 devotees in a stampede during the Mauni Amavasya bath at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, anger has erupted on social media. Devotees and the general public are questioning the administration&#8217;s arrangements. Many people have shared videos and pictures of the disorganisation at the Mahakumbh on Twitter (now X), Facebook, and Instagram, showing crowds of devotees pushing and shoving without any control. <p><strong>Mahakumbh Stampede:</strong> During the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, lakhs of devotees gathered at the Sangam confluence for the Mauni Amavasya bath. A sudden stampede ensued, resulting in the death of over 17 people. The Mela administration has currently confirmed 17 deaths.</p>



<p>The incident caused chaos at the Sangam confluence. Dozens of ambulances arrived at the scene immediately after the accident and transported the bodies of the deceased. Injured devotees were admitted to the central hospital in the mela complex. Several ambulances continuously ferried bodies from the mela towards the city.</p>

Four murder accused found in MP hotel, wielding swords after slashing victims


<p>A gruesome quadruple murder took place in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday. Four young men were brutally killed in broad daylight in Timri village, near Patan. The assailants, after hacking the victims to death, brandished their swords and fled the scene. On Tuesday, suspects in this heinous crime were apprehended from Pachmarhi, a hill station in Narmadapuram district.</p>



<p>Seven suspects were taken into custody by Jabalpur police in a raid at the Samarth Home Stay hotel in Pachmarhi. This action was taken in connection with the murder of the four young men in Timri village. The suspects, their faces covered with cloth, were transported to Jabalpur. Reports suggest that all the suspects arrived in Pachmarhi at night in a car without number plates.</p>



<p>Four individuals from two families were murdered in Timri, Patan, Jabalpur. On Tuesday, when the ambulances carrying the bodies arrived in the village after post-mortem examinations, the relatives blocked the Jabalpur-Damoh highway. Only after persuasion by MP Ashish Dubey and police officials did the relatives relent and take the bodies for the last rites. The highway remained blocked for about an hour and a half.</p>



<p>Sources suggest that Jabalpur police have apprehended 10 accused in the murders. Some of these accused were hiding in a hotel in Pachmarhi fearing arrest. However, Jabalpur police have not yet confirmed this information.</p>

<p><strong>GATE Exam Centre Changed:</strong> IIT Roorkee is conducting the GATE 2025 exam on 1 &amp; 2 February and 15 &amp; 16 February. IIT Delhi has announced a change of exam centres for candidates who were to appear for the entrance exam in Prayagraj. Due to the Mahakumbh, the GATE 2025 exams scheduled for 1 &amp; 2 February and the JAM 2025 exam scheduled for 2 February in Prayagraj will now be held in Lucknow. However, the dates remain unchanged.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Exam to be held in Lucknow instead of Prayagraj</h2>



<p>IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi stated in a release that they received numerous applications from candidates expressing difficulty in reaching exam centres in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (UP), due to expected large crowds. The Mahakumbh is expected to draw massive crowds on 1 and 2 February. Therefore, the Prayagraj exam centres for the GATE and JAM exams have been shifted to Lucknow.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Download Admit Cards</h2>



<p>GATE and JAM admit cards have been released. Candidates are advised to download their admit cards from the GOAPS portal – goaps.iitr.ac.in/login – for GATE 2025 and the JOAPS portal – joaps.iitd.ac.in/login – for JAM 2025. Entry to the examination hall will not be permitted without an admit card. All candidates must bring their photo ID, as uploaded in the online application form and mentioned on the admit card, for identification purposes. Carefully check the details of the new exam centre while downloading the admit card.</p>
